The plot thickens-- so LSF hates the 'righteous sects' because they banded together to wipe out his sect, maybe with the Xiaos leading the charge or killing some significant members of his family, and I would bet a virtual coffee on it that the Tang family only kept him alive to try to force him to share the formula for the marching pill. o.o

I don't want that but I want them to be Appropriately Remorseful and it would be bonus points if they are /about/ to die and it is he who saves them ;-; Heap those burning coals ;-;

I think when Crazy Yan sent the burst of power back at him through that dude in the middle my guess is it injured his inner force, kind of like how that guy in Blood of Youth died after being caught in the middle of an attack like that… 👀

What I’m still wondering from Ep1 is was he adapting a novel to a novel or adapting a novel for an RPG? His friend said he got him into a closed beta so he could “fulfil his martial arts fantasy,” and he wonders once if the friendship points are not high enough to trigger lucky bag events; I wonder if he’s in a game rather than a book (hence the cheats), and if it was always meant to be some kind of virtual reality game from the start (maybe the expectation was everyone would be actors, or that he’d be more OP than he is, but it was always meant to be him in the world of the novel adaptation) and that’s why he’s ultimately so accepting of acting out this role in this world? (despite obviously totally traumatised by the reality of seeing people be hurt and actually hurting people.)

tbf everyone in this show has to endure the super duper heavy makeup. Only the uncles and grandparents are spared the fate of 1-inch thick makeup. But after an ep or two I got used to it, the actors are good enough to carry it off, luckily! (I am with you the makeup's too thick, but I still find her pretty.)

We are judging The System hard for needlessly harming characters for the sake of Plot while settling down with our coffee and chocolate to enjoy characters being needlessly hurt for the sake of Plot, lol. I love this show.

Reasons could be as mundane as it being a 100% random coincidence to save the System CPU power generating avatars to LCZ being a long lost Xiao uncle/cousin (after all, Power Gang members remarked on the strong family resemblance between Qiushui and his dad; presumably his dad once looked like him o.o) to LCZ being another player testing the beta system or maybe even the real XQS who got replaced by the Player or somehow got to hear about his Lonely Fate in the novel and is Not Impressed about it. (i never read the book, so many options for me to imagine for why they look the same!)
