So, there's a Japanese food stall (https://www.facebook.com/shotaro.kamijo) that doesnt have a set location. It sets up camp somewhere in Tokyo, posts a riddle on social media, and old and new patrons who want to eat their food must solve the riddle to find its location before they close for the night.

It's actually on my bucket list, if i ever get to go to Tokyo, to team up with people and track down this truck. There's something whimsical and exciting about the idea. About the ephemeral nature of interactions.

The mysterious female lead apparently agrees. As her whole relationship with male lead is driven by the need to find her in the city before 3 AM.

And then ML's narrative to us towards the end? *chef's kiss*

This short film is going to stick with me. That's for sure.

Idk. I think the business x mystery mash up isn't really my thing. So I couldn't get as into this (amateur) investigation as I would've liked to.

But I do got to say, this did kind of surprise me with how the story was told. For instance, the non spoiler thing i can disclose, is that the first half is told through Tazuko's diary entries. And then it switches to Ikuko's perspective in real (story) time.

I also kind of like this underlying message of realizing new things about the people around you - things that instantly change your perspective (both good and bad), and the regret of not finding out these things sooner.

Going around film festivals right now (started going around in October)
Regardless, many films go around film festivals for a year or two before they release elsewhere. So it'll probably a while even if they do release on streaming somewhere.

It really depends on how well received it was, the stipulations of the grant that funded them, and etc. So there's too many variables to predict atm. This company is also rather new, so we don't have a precedent to go off of either.

Another short better suited to be a full story. T_T One day… one day… 🤞

From this microfilm, i can piece together a larger story of 2 women around the same age - one a female general going against societal norms, the other, a court lady who succumbed to societal pressure and married a successful older man. And the former giving the latter the courage to live how she actually wants.
