On My Secret Romance Sep 8, 2022
I could have given this a higher rating, the production quality was a little lacking in sound engineering and editing - I guess it was going for the 'natural' feel. But performances were great. Story was brave. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Started watching on Netflix, switched to Viki during episode 4, I found their English subtitles captured Korean culture a little better, after all that's why I watch k-dramas. 14 episodes in exported version, not sure what happens in the 13 episode version.

If you liked the themes within Tomorrow, Mystic Pop Up Bar and/or Move To Heaven, i think you will like this drama…
Idk. Tomorrow and Mystic popup were supernatural stories. If you're going to compare, it's more like Chocolate since a large part featured a hospice, although Chocolate tried to be all dramas in one, way too much going on there: medical drama subterfuge, multiple accidents, cooking, childhood traumas, travel, chaebols, you name it.

lmao its not like they were gonna act differently... u find this big pack of money in a car, u would try everything…
Sorry, I don't follow... why did he take the whole car with 2 dead bodies along with all the money? He could have made off with a decent sum, scattered some notes on the floor, nobody would have even known, they'd have just thought it disappeared in the wind or the murderers took it.

Maybe, but not how this guy went about it, choosing the stupidest of all the options available to him... I guess he must have considered just running off with some cash, but then what would happen in the next 9 episodes? He felt he owed it to Netflix to act like an idiot and drag things out in the most 'dramatic' way possible.

Is there a reason why, at the start, the guy didn't just pinch a few wads of cash and scarper instead of incriminating himself to that degree? I can't bear it - it's not for me, it churns my stomach to watch.

I NEEDED to come back here and see more hating. Do a favor to yourself (if you are really a visual arts fan) and…
And it isn't out of the box, it's pretty typical gangster fare

I don’t know why there’s so many haters haha. To each his own, but I loved it. Best Korean drama of 2022 by…
Spoiler alert. Guess he makes it to the end and it's a typical Netflix inconclusive ending then. Thanks very much.

'Noir' doesn't work over 10 episodes, it's too monotonous

Eh..... not sure how to feel about this. For sure every aspect of this drama can be improved, BY A LOT. I've always…
Same. Shot just like a movie, doesn't really work as a drama series, it's 5 hours too long. It's not that there's too much story though, it's pretty straightforward - if they had time, the opening episode could have tried harder to build the characters and family dynamic instead of cinematic snapshots rushing instantly to the 'good stuff'... Netflix's desperate attempt to hook viewers has taken a toll.

Won Ji An is definitely someone to watch out for. Yes, her relationship with JCW is toxic as hell. Every time…
Great performance, agree

Maybe I am just more empathetic and really can feel the story. Heck, I even feel bad for you not being able to…
The comment's from a viewer that thought Tomorrow was good, sets off a few alarm bells 🚨

Hate to say that I expected a bit more from this drama 😭
Agree with John Smith, you should try to say what you think's lacking otherwise it's a pointless comment, no offence

I expect Gyro Rye to maybe waffle a little now that Joon Kyung has appeared, they have the definition of toxic…
Joon Kyung appears to have similar personality disorders to those analysed in a recent trial in Virginia - borderline and histrionic. K-dramas use psych profiles to combine character types. It's interesting to try and spot them and makes the characters relateable, we all know someone a bit like this or that.

Ji Chang Wook is SOOOOO good at playing this character when it comes to that under the breath low, sexy voice…
He's great, he captures the social awkwardness and dissonance that comes with growing up without care or warmth

Nurse Seo gets cuter by the minute. I think it's exponential, she grows twice as lovely every minute, including the minutes she's off screen.... so after ep 8, that's about 2 to the power of 480 (2^480 if you want to put it in your calculator), she's so cute the number's too big to imagine! 😵‍💫

Can somebody give me an advice.I saw the first two episodes and reminds me so much "The One and Only".I loved…
I think it's marvellous, it grows and cultivates the characters, there are mini stories every week, Park Jin-joo's was especially nice as an example. As weeks go by you feel as if you know everyone and hope for their best lives and wishes.

So how's the romance slow or is it fast and they date 5eps in like a lot of kdrama sadly do nowadays?
There's a lot going on aside from romance, but nobody does romance like K-romance, it's cute and adorable, just like we wish for in real life. I've grown to love this drama, it's beautiful.

Spoiler alert! He might choose the righteous path... yet will still end up with the girl and a nice sum of money…
I have no clue what will happen, I'm not a webtoon fan and was just messing around - I hope my prediction is false, otherwise it makes me a total arse! I've yet to see a totally rocking webtoon adaptation, Business Proposal was good for the most part, but writer-driven dramas are still the best. Yumi s1 was the best adaptation I've seen, spoilt by s2 though.

I don't know the webtoon from a bar of soap but would bet a full dollar on him eventually choosing to be poor…
