When I first saw the pink poster, I had decided to skip this. But over the course of its airing, I happen to watch…
It didn't fit, at all. It was more like the lead actor's actual gangster films, such as Chinatown and a night in paradise (top films btw). How did they mess that up? Ruined it for me.
why couldn't they make this 12 eps? or 10? the begining and the middle was so fun but im having a hard time finishing…
The writers ran out of ideas. Which explains even why the dramatic parts misfired towards the end, it was a clumsy latter stage that left the audience (i.e. me, maybe you too) detached.
Interesting article. Her face is indeed very adaptable, you can see her in two roles and it will take a while to sink in that it's the same person. Is she beautiful? I think so, and also she has charisma to go with it. I dare anyone to watch the butcher's daughter's sword dance in The Treacherous to disagree, it's dazzling and mesmerising, not to overstate it.
* Edit, never watch just one scene, context is everything, there's a specific order of events that make it what it is, the director's work is notable, as is the cinematographer's, and of course Lim Ji-yeon's - I couldn't take my eyes off her.
I want to see this if possible. Han Sun Hwa was super in My Sweet Mobster too.
Can I just say LA, any reference to the ending, whatever the wording, is a spoiler? I can avoid reading comments with spoilers, but not articles and reviews. I never read reviews, but I quite enjoy your articles for the most part.
Hoping JTBC sticks with their friends, at Netflix. They must owe them a debt of gratitude after taking up some turkeys like Touch Its Behind, The Arse of Your Pet, Pet Your Pet's Arse, Magic Bottoms, whatever it was called.
8 episodes of 50 minutes. Sounds like an ott production, anyone know which one? I know it says TVING, I'm thinking it's a bespoke order from Netflix - it knows most of us hate their productions so it's hiding behind TVING maybe. The lead actress has ties to Netflix too, contracted in a few of their recent productions.
For all of the loveliness, I give it a 9 - and I'll pretend those bad bits never happened. It was like a beautiful symphony... with a cacophony just before the final movement. It really misjudged the tone of the gangsters in various places, totally detached me from the drama with the sheer nastiness. I was happily enjoying the ride, then the driver hit the Eject button and sent me flying out the roof, I had to cling on and claw my way back in each time. What it should have been aiming for was probably more akin to funfair thrills, where we're safely strapped in.
She's a proper actress. It's childish. In fact it's as if lo_ve is labelling certain idols as not proper actors. It's not in the source article. Nowhere in adult media in SK is a pop-singer-turned-actor labelled by their group name. Never. It would also be patronising, as if the audience doesn't know who they once were.

Edit - ok I'm wrong, it says P+ is streaming it.
That's incorrect, you should stop saying that next time the topic comes up.
Only lo_ve does it, bless, she's as mad as a hatter. It's not done in the source article or South Korea in general. Only by the odd demented fan.
She is not Miss A's Suzy. It might be done for a new idol moving into drama. Not Suzy ffs.
