This has definitely reminded me of "Death Race" w/Jason Statham. Just like in Death Race the warden framed the ML for murder of his wife and kid. Evidence was airtight and he was sent to a high level max security prison. She wanted him to race for entertainment and had viewers around the world. When they raced they had female prisoners in the car with them to help navigate. ML made a lot of enemies ,he won races, and hatched a plan to escape during one of the live races. It's really enjoyable this far.

From what I remember from the novel, if you are referring to before her waking up to her second life...then ML came back with his father/brothers bodies and was tried at court because they blamed the death of the soldiers on his family. He was put in prison. One of the ministers abandoned a city and fled while at war. There was rebellion everywhere and no one to send so he requested to go to the battlefield. The stakes was his life so basically either do or die. He won and that's how he got his reputation. Again this was in the previous life as to how he left prison. I might've missed some points. If anyone else has read the novel please feel free to clarify.

Per the novel she's not. She actually becomes a victim in the grand scheme of things. But since this is the drama idk how they will portray her character overall.

I agree. She was not like this in the novel at all. I don't know why the writers chose this route with her character.

Happy Ending

Kinda of because they both develop feelings for one another. She is his eldest sister in law (though she only one year older than him..per the novel). So in that time she would be criticized for being in a relationship with the younger brother because she's in a sense his elder. And in the book they do have relations. The MLs mother did not die in the novel. When FL told her honestly about her feelings for ML the mother did not approve. That might have changed at the ending but I didn't finish the novel had a few chapters left.

Per the novel she marries the eldest brother. So she is already his wife before he leaves for the battlefield. They were betrothed and was waiting for her to come of age. In the drama it's set up where she marries him after his body is brought back from the battlefield. She lies about being engaged just to get into the family for her own purposes to find clues about her family's situation.

He matures very quickly and become respected and feared...at least per the novel. Not sure how their going to work it out in the drama.

The drama is starting after her rebirth. That's why in the first episode she already has negative feelings towards the 2nd ML. Like the other reviewer stated the synopsis is for the novel.

Yes I don't like how they did it in the drama. She comes off as someone very rash. Which makes since why the ML regards her the way he does. In the novel she was betrothed to the eldest brother. Also, the ML and FL never had any animosity towards one another. They got along well .

In the novel there was never any animosity between them. They got along well from the beginning and grew to like each other.

So in the novel she was already betrothed to the elder brother. During that period it was just a matter of her coming to age so she can marry him. When she came of age they had a nice wedding. When he (the eldest brother) was to enter the bridal chamber the whole family was called to the battlefield. Because of this he didn't even lift her veil. Since she was already reborn (which was why she went through with the wedding) she found out he left so she followed and caught up to them (husband/brothers/father) and warned them without seeming suspicious as best as she could to not chase after the enemy or do anything that seems out of the ordinary. Fast forward younger brother brings all bodies back to the capital. So what she was trying to prevent still happened which were their deaths. Since that couldn't be changed she chose to stay in the family to help ML because in her previous life she remembered ML disdained her because she chose to run off with 2nd ML and reject the marriage with his elder brother. Also, she chooses to stay to help temper his temper because he really did become a Living Yama. He was ruthless. Not to the common people or innocent but anyone and everyone who was against him and tried to tarnish his family name.

It is following the novel from that aspect. All the brothers and father died at battle which was a setup. The only ones who didn't die was the Chu family. Her father and 2 brothers were still alive. They did not encounter a battle where they lost their lives as the show is putting it. They were actually pretty neutral throughout everything but did eventually pick a side more so for the FLs sake. I didn't finish the novel, only a few chapters left, so I'm not sure if it something did happen to her family towards the end.

Per the novel, No she is not. She has a sly character but she actually becomes a victim due to the plotting and scheming of someone she had next to her (a lover). Shes ends up back in the palace against her will as the empress but doesn't have it easy either. I can't remember all the details but she helps the FL and ML from her side in the palace in terms of revenge both collectively and personally.

Per the novel, yes, FL and ML (younger brother) get involved and develop deep feelings for one another. MLs mother did not die and when FL told her honestly about her feelings and that she didn't regret it the mother did not approve. I might miss some things but if I vaguely remember, the MLs maid/"princess" returns back to her homeland to reclaim her country and people. So her and the ML go their separate ways. The ML promises to work things out so they can be together because their relationship is a bit complicated. They are from different countries. His dad conquered her homeland but he didn't kill her parents they chose to end their own lives. MLs dad took her as a hostage to be used and watched as a potential pawn in the grand scheme of things later on at that time. There's more to it but that's what I can remember for now. For the ML he has to decide or he decided to take the lordship position of his country which his father wants but he didn't. He realizes he needs to take the position in order to bring his family back together because his siblings are all separated due to various reasons and circumstances because of the imperial family or court. They do not like that his dad is basically a ruler over his governing land. It's court politics and the imperial family which is basically the emperor being cautious when you have to much power or authority where the common people look more toward you, this lord, than the emperor...that kind of thing. After his journey he gained some skills and martial powers and also some allies. He's also gained a named for himself so the second season should pick up from there. Again I might've missed some points but this is what I can recall. Feel free to correct me :)

And what was even more ridiculous was that the so call "police " just waltzed her bruised and beaten mother into a kindergarten with young kids and their parents there. Why didn't you have her mother wait outside then notify her and ask her to come out. You just brought the mother directly into the building and the classroom. They weren't even sure she was her mother. That was just unprofessional and stupid imo. What if the mother wanted to harm the daughter and didn't care about the casualties...
