Worth watching? Or is it just another office drama that spends too much time on contracts between companies?
Entirely depends on your sense of humour. This drana is full of tropes and cliches and misunderstandings - campy cheesy humour which is not everyone's cup of tea. Not full on romance which people expect either and some tech/business talk which people get put off by.
However I loved the humour (i.e. I fully expected a phone call to interrupt a pivotal moment), 100% up my street and it's one of the few dramas I enjoyed all the major/minor couples as they were all very different and enjoy the acting very much, the comedy is very much on the ball. I LOVED the multilayered misunderstandings as part of the comedy here too. Some people said they can't sense the couple's chemistry, but I thought it was on fire.
I get it doesn't appeal to everyone but it doesn't deserve the ire and hate it seems to get. As an international watcher I do think the drama could do with additional subtitles for the news articles etc being read but that's mainly what I'm missing.
Totally agree with you. Plus, I also read somewhere from weibo, that due to the copyright, IQIYI can’t use any…
But according to a couple of folk here, one of the alias (Jing Yuan) of the ML from AL is being used in this drama? I have not watched ALP and have no intention to.
Irks me though because this tenuous link leads to those who love the ALP drama critiquing this drama based on the previous actor/character, when clearly it's going to be different.
Doubt it, it’s from different platforms so it seems kind of impossible
Apologies and thanks for the correction. Sadly, feels like this is doomed to bad ratings then, as people already seem to be expecting the same characterisation of the previous ML/FL as before even though it is hugely unlikely being a different platform and different actors.
I detected on TLI forum disappointment though compared to ALP, not too sure why exactly...anyway decided won't watch either and will watch this on its own (also haven't got the time to watch everything!).
There is a rumor that they will try to air the drama before the end of 2024.
Thanks for the heads up, not seen TLI and don't plan to! What's fast - 6 months...? I am happy to wait till 2025 to get a well crafted drama (that trailer though 🤯 ❤️)

Honestly that ALP reference needs to be struck off on MDL as I've seen so many questions about ALP characters and it seems the character names are not even used here.
If anyone wants the ALP references just read the unfinished novel of this, don't expect it in the drama and then get disappointed.
is there any way to watch exclusive fairytale? In viki only 6 episodes are available for free. I really loved…
I don't normally recc kisskh but that's where I am watching it. I like all the characters in it, it's a light funny fluffy watch and Jun plays the character well (given he is totally different). ZMY is my bias of course lol.
Am at Ep 18 and loving it still, feeling sad it will be over soon 😅
When you finish, watch how The Seventeen react to Jun's acting, it's quite funny 😁
but Yan Lin seems so bad in the past life. It looks like he forced himself on FL when she was empress, but afterwards…
Am watching EF now and I think it's done quite well the transition from childhood friends to something more, contrary to many who don't like the drama.

Hopefully that helps!
