YGH’s problem is no one else but himself now. He keeps bringing XCS into the conversation in conversations with HHL. I remember CHJ did the same. Both really developed XCS complex and can’t live without being jealous of someone who never really competed with them which I guess makes them even more jealous.

That worm CHJ who hung on the coat table of XCS and YGH to survive in his youth completely fell off the deep end and went full blown corrupt, affairs, bribery and all.

True, if she kept the realistic side, she would have taken care of the pregnancy to secure her place in the Ye family. She’s literally just a body/pretty face there.

YF couldn’t have left CHJ sooner cause he’s playing with fire with the Li guy. Her character growth is great. XCS has to learn to cut ties with those that can’t grow from their mistakes like Heizi.

It brought me back to YF’s assessment of HHL having two characters inside her. The idealistic one in love and the realistic one for needs. Looks like she got rid of the idealistic love side when she chose to get with YGH.

XCS took the stabbing from Heizi for CHJ that was instigated by Li. Maybe CHJ’s karma will be betrayal by Li/Heizi?? I need slime ball Li to finally get the KDrama white truck of doom or something cause prison can’t seem to hold him. Hope the drama gives us mini XCS/TXMs to make up for all that XCS has been through.

I’m going to pretend that spoiler doesn't’ exist until it actually comes out or hope that the letter is a mistake and there’s a twist where DL was just injured doing police work. I’m going to be 😭 when that episode come.

Have no words for CHJ…just a really pathetic worm who’s going to get bitten by the loser he joined hands with. Agree that YF needs to leave as soon as possible. Duan Lei needs to move to Beijing. He can get surgery for his leg.

There was flashbacks to all the stuff her mom did like going through her diary, signing her up for the military, setting her up with that guy, just being really controlling. She said she wasn’t going to be a good mother so she didn’t want kids. I think she knows her own personality and is scared of becoming like her mother.

Wow. YF’s reason for not wanting a baby. Her mom really affected her mentally. Madame Ye is so controlling and living through that YF doesn’t feel like she’ll make a good mother, possibly recognizing some of her mother’s traits in herself?

Also, unlike YF, YGH has no guts to stand up to his mom so HHL is definitely not going to have a good time being a part of that family. Mother-in-law is controlling and looks down on people that aren’t from the same background.

So glad TXM’s parents are not like that. XCS seems to have a good relationship with them from the previews and they converse with XCS without talking down to him.

Ep 23 was 1981 so it’s now a few years after that so getting towards the mid-80s.

I love that he said, there’s no what if’s. There’s only the choices you make and moving on with those choices. IMO even if HHL went back with XCS instead of TXM, they still would have broken up because sooner or later unless HHL is willing to make the sacrifices if XCS didn’t fully recover. TXM put in a lot of effort for XCS’s recovery and I don’ know if HHL would have that fortitude to stick with it.

Even though XCS and HHL didn’t break up until ep20, you can see that the relationship between TXM and XCS is different and deeper with trust and understanding.

I really liked the conversation between TXM’s father and XCS. That family dinner was completely different from CHJ and YF’s family dinner. TXM’s parents are different too because their family has discussions and acceptance of their daughter’s choices whether they agree or not.

The relationship between YGH and HHL is more transactional on HHL’s side while YGH actually cared/loved her. She got into a relationship with him as a show of gratitude towards all he’s done for her. She has regrets and what if’s about XCS so she doesn’t let herself move on.

I think it’s just the same genre and time period.

There’s a scene in one of the videos where she was in red drinking wine with a very antagonistic “bi**y” look.

TXM had always loved him but she’s the practical type where if the other person doesn’t reciprocate, she won’t push it. That scene was right after the confrontation from HHL so I think she was probably waiting to hear XCS’s reaction and trusting that he truly wanted her and not just the girl from the library? No matter what she feels for XCS, when the pretty ex returns for the first time, her confidence can still waiver a little. It reminded me of the conversation between Big Sis and QT. Big Sis also initially didn’t have confidence that she was truly what QT wanted in a wife because she “wasn’t pretty, smart or played the violin” describing HHL because everyone knew the three guys all liked HHL.

Lol…I was like, I hope that fish was in a bag. 🤣

I think the only ones of the old crew that won’t or hasn’t screwed him over is QT and old Liang. 🤦🏻‍♀️
