But wasnt she the one who wanted to take their "fake" marriage into a real one by wanting to consummate…
Because while she was finding ways for them to get closer, he kept avoiding her, and didn't answer her when she asked him to stay the previous day, which in her mind meant, oh he wants to leave, nothing i can do about it😓
Then when he forced kiss her she was confused, like didn't you just reject me yesterday? Why are you suddenly doing this?
And also she has self-respect, and will not just "accept" XZ's feelings after he kept giving her mixed signals: he shows that he cares for her, but when she tries to take a step closer, he tells her he's leaving😢
Isnt it crazy he didnt tell her even when leaving.. whats the need to hide from her when he no longer has need…
Because she will be absolutely furious and humiliated that he hid such a huge thing from her haha, rmb she literally set up a whole altar to pray for the "dead" Marquis and made him pray to himself
and maybe he doesn't want her to feel intimidated with his new title and then potentially change her personality around him
I feel like perhaps as their relationship grew and they got more comfortable with each other, they are showing…
it might have felt out of character for XZ but that's exactly it, the character he has been portraying so far is not him, its Yan Zheng, a persona that he created in order to live in the village with CY
I feel like their seperation scene was a bit odd. It didn't suit the mature relationship they have built so far.…
I feel like perhaps as their relationship grew and they got more comfortable with each other, they are showing their "true" sides to each other without knowing it.
In Chang Yu's perspective, she was pretty disappointed when he didnt agree to stay. but she just accepted it as something she could not change. So I think she was really confused as to why XieZheng was so bitter and throwing mean words at her when all she did was prepare his stuff properly so he can leave without worries. Then XieZheng being the extremely self-conflicted man that he is, suddenly asked really bitterly if she wants to marry another man? So Chang Yu was like tf is with these mixed signals i've literally asked you to stay multiple times why are you acting jealous when YOU are the one who wants to leave? and then mean words started spewing out left and right in reaction to HIS mean words
As for XieZheng's perspective, I feel like he has been suppressing his "true" colours (he has a poison tongue and can be very obsessive) for way too long, and as he got more comfortable with Chang Yu, little by little, it leaked out in many ways: suggesting killing her uncle, his reaction towards ChangYu getting hurt, showing godlike skills when fighting Sui Yuan Qing etc. He's been pretending and trying to convince himself for way too long that he cannot be with ChangYu because of his personal matters, while at the same time falling more and more for her. So when ChangYu suggested signing divorce papers, it hit a trigger point for his "true" self and his jealousy just exploded into very harsh words (and actions).
It didn't help that when they argued, Chang Yu hasn't realised her full feelings for Xie Zheng, only after she saw his gift that he left behind, did she feel regret and was like oh, i really do like him A LOT and cannot truly accept him leaving just like that.
An interesting detail from ep16.Fan Changyu put the back of the knife to Sui Yuan Qing's neck the entire time…
yes i believe so...even in the scene where she first killed someone to save ChangNing, right after that she continued to fight but didn't execute any lethal moves, and XieZheng was the one who told her to focus and did the actual stabbing by guiding her weapon😢
The sadness of men leaving their homes in episode 17 makes the forced conflict at the end of episode 16 seem a…
Not replying when she asks if you could stay the previous day and hence giving her the impression that you don't like her that much, then forcing a kiss on your love without consent after an argument, and forcing ANOTHER kiss after she slaps you as a warning, I would be scared and be on the defence as well
Also in chapter 84, XZ was telling CY "Even if I die, you need to live well, and marry a scholar that you like in the future...", then in literally a few paragraphs later in that same chapter, he was like "as long as I'm still alive, don't even think of marrying another man" like BRO CHILL
