At this point, it feels like theyāre watching the show at the most surface level possible and completely missing the point. Boneless and stupid? Little Jane isnāt some hopeless, spineless character at all. He actually stands up for himself, which is exactly why his story unfolds the way it does. If he really were as spineless as some people keep claiming, half of the events in the story wouldnāt even happen. He questions people. He speaks up when something doesnāt sit right with him. He argues with his friends, challenges the person he loves, and doesnāt just blindly accept everything heās told. He has his own opinions and isnāt afraid to voice them. Thereās a difference between simply not liking a character and completely misunderstanding who they are. If you want a different ending, thatās what fanfiction is for.
