I agree that it's common in historical dramas for younger actresses to take the lead. Personally, I prefer more seasoned actresses aged 30+ and male actors aged 35+

I’m not passing judgment before watching the drama, but my expectations are low. If they decide to remove the romantic tension from the story, I understand why they changed the title to avoid any comparison with the novel.

Dramas are often inspired by novels, but they rarely follow the same plots or events. I hope the original soundtrack (OST) will make up for it, as Season 1's OST remains my favorite.

I have read the entire novel, and I have to disagree with the claim that the script for "Rebirth" is faithful to the original story. Whaaaaaat?

In the novel, Chu Qiao spends many years away from Daxia, Yanbei, and Zhuge Yue. She only encounters Yan Xun face-to-face once, and that happens quite late in the story. Additionally, she never has a red spider in the novel and supernatural powers. She transmigrated from modern China to the body of a 7-year-old girl. The ending is also significantly different. It seems that the author of this article did not fully read the novel. Anyway I am curious to watch season 2. But I already miss Shawn Dou….

Also, If they follow this script, there will be no season 3.
