The master already existed and she was about to vanish in order that her master could show up again. Either Bin Lou Huan had a twin... or this Jin Zhao was a very similar looking random guy who was found by Bin Lou Huan to become his alter ego for the future.

Japanese tend to leave also silence and visual gaps, but theirs are like a poem. The story had potential but it turns very bland and even irrelevant at some point. It may be, but I've been watching all Xu Kai's work and this is the first time they put the FL to talk like a child and very high. So it does get annoying. The character is ok but it didn't need that high pitch.

Again, we are not in anime. There was no need to put her to talk like that. Get over it and accept it, it is annoying. It's probably first main lead with Xu Kai that is upseting because of that scratchy voice.
