Are you a big fan of FL? As a fan, don't you wish a much much better role for her? What is wrong with you? Everytime someone complained about FL, you would get so offended, some of us really hope Elaine got much much better role, this immature clingy naive Role doesn't suit her at all. Take a look at her face, she has the exact 30 years old mature woman face, look older than xu kai just like in real life, but she is acting like a teenager young girl which really pains us.

I don't like her character. Elaine deserves better character. Maybe i have watched too many C-dramas that somehow feel china scriptwriters really love to belittle female roles

It's fine if she doesn't know things since she came from small town, but atleast she should know what or she shouldn't do , as a martial artist, she atleast should sense a dangerous situation especially when her master and ML told her multiple times. She's just pretty naive, trusting bad guys more over ML. That's why people said she's not smart at all but acting like she's smart, tough and pretty childish at the same time.
