Some people still think A League of Nobleman is an adaptation of a BL novel, so they expected a drama like Word of Honor or The Untamed bromance level. So they got disappointed. Well, it's not a BL novel. The amount of bromance in this drama is already surprising, given that we don't see many bromance cdramas anymore and bl/danmei is still on a soft ban.

I can't believe the injustice since he was a baby. Honestly, I felt so bad when Lan Jue and Zhang Ping lied about Shulin’s birthright. I know they had to ruin Shulin’s plan bc he was going to harm too many people but still. The empress dowager was too evil and pushed her son to no end. But like mom and son, they're both crazy. So sad.

They cut out Liu Xueyi’s scene?!! I didn't see him. I wonder if they cut him off bc his character is the Royal Uncle from the novel Imperial Uncle (which is a bl novel with shared universe as this novel). Now I’m curious.

Wang Duo played Shulin very well. That character is a villain but I couldn't help but feel his pain. 🤧

Nope! Zhang Ping and Lan Jue are not related. Their parents worked together once 20 years ago but that's it.

Oh yes. Lan Jue and Shulin are very sus. They lived together for a while and looked like a couple. If their circumstances were different, then I think they would have remained together. Their chemistry is something else too. Between characters, I think Lan Jue/Mowen and Lan Jue/Shulin have the most chemistry even though PingLan is more of the popular ship.

Lan Jue told Zhang Ping that Shulin is his confidant and Zhang Ping didn't look too thrilled about that. He came home to ask Chen Chou what a confidant is. Lol. I smell the vinegar. Also, Lan Jue living with Shulin in that little house 10 years ago was very sweet and cute.

Yes, Lan Jue looks so precious when his hair is down when he waters his orchid flowers, makes tea, and reads at home. He's relaxed and isn't guarded, unlike when he's in his Imperial official clothing. He is such a complex character, and JBR played the character well.

Lan Jue does look gentle and pretty with his hair down. I'm one of his admirers too. Plus the way he makes tea looks good. 🥰

This cast is not set. It will change bc there is no official announcement yet. I hate how MDL randomly puts actors and actresses in an unofficial lineup like this. Or base it on some rumors. 😒

We will finally see Wang Duo in ep 22 (not just behind the curtains). But I can't wait to see Royal Uncle played by Liu Xueyi. I look forward to it even though he's only a guest star in this drama. 🥰

Just based on the drama alone, Zhang Ping was 3 years old when he first met Lan Jue at Lan’s residence. I didn't think they were related. Unless they later explained that ZP’s mom have been with LJ’s dad for some years. I guess we shall see.

A happy ending in the novel but the live drama adaption can change it. We don't know yet.

I'm on the PingLan’s ship, but I can't help but look fondly at Mowen too. The guy is super loyal to Lan Jue and is willing to kill anyone for him or die for him. The poor guy had teary eyes when Lan Jue was in trouble or sick. He has no ulterior motives. Just have a lot of love for Lan Jue. 🥺

The only semi-significant female character in this drama is the Empress Dowager and she's an evil b. This drama really is all about the men. 😆

Under the Microscope is airing on February 9th and it looks interesting. I’ve been a fan of ZRY’s historical drama since Joy of Life.
