I feel you...however this a glimpse into Korea and their issues. It relates because many countries suffer this.…
It resonates towards the world because nowadays those are the main problems education is facing, and there will be even more with AI implementation. I think mankind is still far from finding a solution between punishment and ideal education. The success of the drama is well deserved as much as the protests, unfortunately. And as a teacher, watching a drama with so many real problems is like a failure of our world field. At least those teachers even in burnout but willing to do something, because bad teachers exist.
As a teacher I am watching this with my high school student ( last high school years). I am not satisfied at all since I was expecting a heavier and more serious drama about this topic, even if it's adapted from a manhwa. I am an English teacher in Italy, and some months ago the news reported some high school students literally beating an old teacher with a huge and big wooden stick, so this topic is something touching me personally. I have to say, the depiction of each episode is very realistic in the school situation and it depict every kind of problem school has nowadays. It is not so unrealistic to have a military organisation protecting weak people. BUT I am in the middle between those praising it and critising it. The solution with violence is realistic only in episode 2, " there are gangs, do you expect to teach them with pens"? But this extreme solution should be delivered in a better way. Punishment deserved, but violence should not be applied to fight violence but to make students aware they are still responsible for their actions. Adults fails when school fails and teachers are the ones failing the school, not only by lack of authority but with corruption in a sense. I find the drama quite superficial without any significanti solution, only a mean to discuss the real problem. I understand that this kind of series can bring a huge escalation in violence among young people but this is why this drama should be explained more than simply watched. I can understand the accusations about misoginy in episode 4, because yes, women are the very first enemy of themselves, but the problem is that pointing in a ridiculous way at se**al assault for women. It's undeniable that women can use this way because women are the best to exploit themselves in order to feel beautiful, because when you don't care about your body and tries to feel beautiful showing naked skin or something like this, it's a bad message you are conveying. It's undeniable that this does not justify assault too. BUT as a woman, me too I feel tha the episode is lowering the problem at a ridiculous level, like every women accusing it is faking it. It's not as misoginist as people say and from another angle I see a message to women to love ourselves more without exploiting the body, but it is still misoginist. I can't stand FL screams at all, she is not stupid but she acts as an idiot. And even the support role with glasses, it's unbearable. I am still watching but I was expecting more, not a superman man solving everything in a sense with some super power. I agree with lots of things in the drama, like the dignity of a teacher, the fact that the victim is not always the teacher and sometimes the teacher's behaviour is a problem. I agree in the drama depcting family as a big problem for education, because they meddle too much, and even social media pressure. I agree in the way they are punishing the culprits making them aware they are not above the law or education. I agree in presenting the burnout teachers are pressured. But i disagree in the superficial way they present the topic, like more a " i watch people fighting" rather than issuing a real discussion. The only thing I am really really glad is that even a drama can try talk about the issue, even thought in a too simple way, and issuing a green flag over the awareness of this topic. Nowadays it's easy to make teachers culprit for the failure of education, when there is no authority, no respect, no power to ensure proper compulsory education.
I knew Jin Ze since almost his debut and he was in Milan too just a year after I started watching dramas. I really liked him and my condolences are for his family and for us fans. For those vile people slandering him, slandering China, bringing issues not related like the fake videos of already close Yu Menglong's case ( another actor I follow since the very beginning), please get a life maybe with your vile siblings and maybe study Chinese a bit. Even poor soul can't have a rest when people cowardly use them to slander China, and always from people unable to speak Chinese. Not only it's disheartening for us fans while we are mourning, but it is very disrespectful towards Chinese people and Chinese fans. I hope those vile people never have a family, because they are easy to talk when they are not involved. Rest in peace, my dear actor.
hallyu ban is still present in China, they are linked about trying to be at peace not about collabs since they oppose them. There were a survey, every Chinese opposed the lifting of hallyu ban. I generalise south korea when they are wrong, otherwise i let them be
OK, looks like this won't air on One31 after all as "My Tutor, My Love" replaces "The Bangkok Red…
Win said september recently and on One31 tto, Fourth said this will directly compete a bit with TTH. But I agree with you, probably sat-sun end of june for GMMTV, then netflix and One31
But makes no sense. Even after she came back I still feel like she is not there yet. She is rushing too much.
I agree with you. Yes, she has the upperhand of the knowledge of her previous life, but she is human and still pure and clueless in a sense. She uses her knowledge foreshadowing and predicting, acting as a masterming, but she is pretending. She has no hope for Xiao Yun anymore, but she had to grow up fast and in the cruelest way. She has become more mature in certain things but her core of clueless and pure girl is still there and you see exactly in what Xie Yanfang says. She is rushing things too much, and in ep 4 Xiao Yun uses exactly this without knowing it.
Chen Duling is one of my favorite actresses and she nails the role here more than in other dramas. She has polished her talent since The Left Ear movie, and now she is proving herself even more as a talented actress, not only a pretty face suited for evil female characters. I liked her a lot in Love in flames of war and I am glad to see how she has grown as an actress. She is gorgeous.
This is related to the novel and you are perfectly right about her and 4th Prince. In the novel, in the scene…
Because she knows all the events. She wanted to try to protect him, do you remember the scene of the letter? " History won't change, but I still want to give it a try". Ruoxi warns 8th Prince because even though she won't be with him knowing his ending, she wants to try to help him in a way. She knows everything about the great historical figures of the period, so she knows exactly what will happen.
Where can I watch it except Lezhin? I saw some videos online and the very first scene made me curious, as a manhwa fan. It remembers me of another kdrama
