Don't worry about the ratings too much even though its a mystery for me as well, because its such a strong start! Its on Netflix so it will get the recognition it deserves!
Mad Dog had an interesting premise at first and a good cast, and it indeed is a decent drama but I felt something was lacking overall.
From the first couple of eps we already know who the bad guys are and you can early on guess how the drama will end, and it ends pretty much just like that. Story turns out to be pretty predictable and could even be called generic. Around half of the drama the plot starts running around in circles and goes nowhere, it seriously felt that there were like 5-8 episodes where the plot almost didn't progress at all in the second half, things just went back and forth and they repeated so many plot devices (like how many times did they try to kill Min Joon? 3? 4? lol). There are also soooo many long talking scenes in every episode, especially with the bad guys and their corporate politics, which are just sooo boring. I found myself skipping alot. Maybe it would have left a better impression if it was, say, trimmed down into 12 episodes.
AND... with all this said, they still somehow managed to make the last episode feel rushed...
I would rate it 7/10 - worth a watch but not that memorable. There are many other much better dramas in the genre.
Like someone else wrote, I laughed at how they just went "fuck it, fuck everything up to this point" in the last episode and ended with some fluffy fan service lmao. Biggest flop ever?
For some reason I feel most bad for Woo Do Hwan to be in this project, he seems to be such a good guy. Well his career just started and he will get a new drama soon!
