True that not all artistes who promote games know how to play them. But if people are already not liking her, the point of not knowing the game will not sit well and she was next to LYX who played well, it really did not help her cause back then. If it was just her and no one from the TTEOTM cast to compare, maybe not too bad.

I can't remember clearly all the stuff she did to get such backlash. But vaguely remember she did some questionable stuff or said some stuff, probably on the instructions of her agency to gain publicity whilst understandable, it came out reflecting poorly on her because those actions seemed to be directed at LYX and other fellow actors. It did not help that the character she portrayed was hated, resulting in a lot of hate for her.
A random incident that I remember during that time was that she got a gig as a spokesperson or ambassador of the game League of Legends. As a spokesperson, at least know how to operate the game right? She went in for a marketing demonstration for the game and was KO in about 20s. 😅 During that time she was flailing around in the game and saying how do I work this etc. LOL Did not leave a good impression on people. If people already did not like her, she was just giving folks more ammunition by her behaviour and stuff she said. Meanwhile LYX who was another ambassador for League of Legends was a pro champion player and played very well against other gamers. The contrast could not be greater. So....
Anyways...I think she is doing ok now and hopefully learnt from that whole fiasco during TTEOTM period She is very suitable for costume dramas, her overall look and feel. Looks the part. I think Zhang Wei Na has more of a modern feel.
