As with many dramas, love, revenge and redemption are often the core of the plots. This drama was originally supposed to be told in 56 episodes. Due to a change of Cdrama regulations, it had to be reduced to 40 episodes. It was quite evident, especially in the later episodes that scenes have been cut out because some things made no sense and felt rushed too.

I also agree that what LSS did to TTJ was at times unnecessarily cruel. Yes, we understand she was fresh off the boat from the future where the DG killed her loved ones in front of her. But she was also aware the TTJ of the past was not yet the DG and he also did not know better. Poor meow meow. 🥹 Which is why, cruel as it seems, I thought that it was payback on LSS when she had to be alone during her pregnancy and then looking for TTJ for 500 years in the novel. Must have been tough on LSS in that situation, but karma can be such a bitch.
At the end of it all, she got to be reunited with TTJ and went home as a complete family. I think that was a beautiful end in the novel to all that angst.
