I think XL's tribulations were always meant to prepare him to be GYJW. He died an honourable crown prince. I think his soul would have been reborn as the good and upright GYJW we see at the beginning of the drama.

Messing with nature got us that Frankenstein GYJW who could not help feel obsessive love (TTJ's Blood From the Heart) towards LSS and then got attracted by dark powers. The tears from the Bitchang made him attracted to that Bish when she appeared again.

I think there will always be a GYJW, but just which version? This reminds me of the movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. There is a version of each of us in the multiverse.
