Indeed there is no known link. No one here is saying that this tragedy came about due to BL dramas or gay people. Rather, due to this incident, it will be used as one of the reasons to ban dramas based on BL novels.
The general concensus here is that the kids somehow had access to Prawn material and acted upon it. No child, even if they are unhinged, is born knowing and wanting to r*pe someone. They likely watched something they shouldn't at their age, and without guidance, acted on it in real life. Monkey see monkey do.
Most important is that the victim gets the help/therapy he needs and heal from this traumatic experience. At 10 years old, he has lost the innocence of childhood and that is a horror no one should experience, both him and his family.
Lastly, if we want to watch China's dramas, we have to accept that it comes with various restrictions whether we like it or not. China is not obliged to follow what other people think they should or shouldn't do.

I think he has improved since his TTEOTM days. And he can cry on demand too!!! Dang, I am impressed with actors who can cry on demand and look so good doing so. LOL
Looks like fellow TTEOTM alumni, DW has come a long way since the days of having a small fan base. Back then, his manager had to beg official accounts to post birthday greetings for DW and got rejected. And DW wished himself happy birthday. Kinda heartbreaking right?
I cannot find it now, but I came across an article that said that DW landed the role of Tushan Jing in Lost You Forever because the preferred actor/s who were offered the role rejected it. Those actors felt that the character TSJ was "not a good role" to have on their resume. It finally landed on DW, who took it on and well, as they say, the rest is history. I cannot imagine anyone else as TSJ. ๐ฆ Let me know if what I read is true or just some rumour.
Whatever it is, the role of TSJ really helped propel DW to stardom. Happy that DW is also doing well these days.
