i'm just starting this but aside from both of them having supernatural elements, i don't really think these shows…
for sure I think so far the romance the romance is not the main plot of this show whereas the romance was the main plot of Khemjira. many people don’t actually enjoy romance as a plot so definitely can infer why this is more appealing
i'm just starting this but aside from both of them having supernatural elements, i don't really think these shows are that similar. tbh i get why they're being compared but i think they're very different and the show you prefer will depend on which genre you're more into.
e.g the 'horror' element of Khemjira is in my opinion heavily overstated and it actually wasn't really that scary at all outside a few scene's. Khemjira had the supernatural spriti element but wasn't a horror show per se. Whereas, GBYFD definitely leans more into that horror element and i think definitely would appeal more to people looking for that scare factor more.
there are many more differences that i think are at play here, and while comparisons are unavoidable (two thai BLs dealing with ghosts airing at around the same time ofc ppl will compare), i think the shows are ultimately two different offerings so the comparisons will never really do it justice.
Considering the adapted novel not having much to go on...This drama is all about the characters...
yesss i feel like definitely the best parts of the plot. it’s the other side plots i find annoying - i wish the plot had followed their relationship without boring without the other stuff. Maybe i need to drop it came come back to it and ill few differently!

I’ll probably keep watching because I’ll watch yuxiao in anything but i just am not enjoying it as much as i was hoping I would so i feel a bit betrayed. so I came to whine in the comments 😭😭😮💨
unfortunately this drama seems to be running on the chemistry of the main leads and the talent of the actors alone. their performances are the only thing allowing this script to work at all. the romance between xiao Yu and hu xiu is so satisfying and enjoyable, i wish they would have just focused on that. the initial premise with the VR was so good and intriguing too; and actually fresh proposition that felt new and not overly cliche.
I was deeply disappointed to see the drama become bogged down with the other plots and all these cliches we’ve seen in dramas countless times. it serves to ruin what could have been a sweet and heartwarming romance with unnecessary melodrama. it’s almost trying to do too much and instead of properly fleshing it out, they’ve just meant back on cliche tropes
I feel so annoyed because I was really excited for this as a big fan of Lu Yu Xiao but what started out as fresh and appealing, now halfway through feels so contrived. it’s a shame because the chemistry between our ml’s is 😍😍😍😍😍😍 but this script (don’t even get me started on the second couple because I will actually scream)
I kinda hate Zhuang Xu a lot and I’m only on ep1. someone tell me that this won’t last please because I have a feeling he’s a pretty big part of the plot
it would have been faster and easier to stab me in the chest
