Like I mentioned in the last bit, she left everything behind and took an escape route. Whether she intentionally took time off or escaped as a result of an emotional reaction, ultimately, it's temporary from her side, but HT doesn't know that, which is why he'll be devastated once she leaves.

That ain't misleading then. I know loads of people in real life, who don't really say "I love you" but their love is evident in everything they do for their partner, and nobody questions it. Honestly, it was quite blind of JX to not have seen his love, it was everywhere, long before they got together.

There was a moment of I love you /me too shown in the drama, there could probably be more. The love has already been expressed between the two. The guy literally took her to meet the family and announced to hers saying she shouldn't back out now.

She was oblivious when her relationship was falling apart with SYC and she's oblivious when HT has been showing her all this love.

@Saydoo thinks HT had a crush on JX back then but it wasn't love.
But I'm convinced he fell in love with her in college and couldn't move on, even when he didn't have a hope of meeting her again.

Yep, I did mention all these in a comment before. Too unnaturally fast. And well, JX was enjoying the ride wasn't she, she could've put the brakes but she didn't. Also, why do you call it misleading? Not like he was really using her as a pawn, he was falling deeply for her too.

22.11.22 - HT and JX meet at the village (date is on the schedule that HT sees JX's name on and plans to go too)

29.11.22 - Xingchen is registered (date on business license and the message TS shows HT)

14.12.22 - SYC & JX's 4th anniversary, day of the play, HT finds out she has a boyfriend, SYC proposes JX (date on play tickets)

21.12.22 - HT & JX sign contract, she wears the ring and is officially engaged (date on contract)

22.12.22 - XC receives first round of investment money (date on their account info)

23.12.22 - SYC breaks up with JX, JX and HT meet at the event, she gets drunk later (date on event invite)

Ok, I'm about to drop the actual timeline of events from the drama below for those who still wonder how much time has passed between the different parts of the story 👇🏼👇🏼

The makers actually bothered creating proper docs and putting up correct dates on them all, so apparently they wanted the viewers to follow.

From November 2022 when HT and JX met again to December 10, 2023 when they're breaking up.

At least in the novel they had a relationship, but in the drama, no chance!
