ML didn't protect her in this case, she resolved the issue herself, and the background paperwork was done by her team and SYC.
Nowhere in the drama was she portrayed as a pushover.

I see that they're trying to make it an even dynamic couple. Normally in a drama, a big gesture like gifting a star would be from the guy, but here JX does it for HT.
