That's when it becomes a problem because it's important to understand that the main characters are completely different people. They have their own personalities, their own values, their own choices and the way they behave depends on how they perceive things. I think audiences need to understand the characters better rather than projecting their own wishes onto them. Nowadays, everyone just complains instead of trying to understand the characters. When the complaints become overwhelming, even writers start creating characters who are almost perfect from every angle. That's one of the reasons dramas don't hit the same way they used to. Everything is becoming too perfect, with barely any real conflicts or meaningful character flaws, making the stories feel less authentic.

Nowadays, people don't have any patience. They want everything to be resolved quickly without properly addressing the underlying issues. Those 2 minute vertical dramas, Reels, Tiktok etc., have really messed up everyone's attention span. They want everything to happen at jet speed.
Romance dramas are a weird beast when it comes to audience responses. Everything going well, cute fluffy some…
I personally hate it when everyone wants picture perfect leads and I believe that's what's ruining dramas nowadays. I really want to know why everyone wants everything to be perfect. If you want everything to be so perfect, are we watching a human romance drama or a romance between robots? Everyone wants the leads to behave exactly the way they expect but I wonder how they would behave if they were in the same situation. I really want to know how many people would be completely okay with their partner being divorced and still in contact with their ex. Wouldn't they feel insecure or jealous? As third party viewers, we know the male lead loves the female lead and has no romantic feelings for his ex. But from the female lead's perspective, she can naturally feel uncertain until she becomes secure in the relationship and that's completely normal. Those are very human emotions. Personally, I find dramas really boring when everything is picture perfect. I like some tension between the lead's and I want dramas to address real life relationship issues while the couple is dating. Otherwise, it feels like I'm watching perfect robots falling in love rather than real human beings.
Episodes should have been atleast 40-45mins long, because I can feel drama is really good but they are trying to cram 12-16 episodes legal kdramas content into this short drama of 20min length per episode. Everything feels just very much rushed, but still it's really good watch.
Only if length was bit longer, I think they would have been able to flesh out plot and characters really well.
That's exactly what happened to me when I was reading sissy. I liked the homophobic dad and wanted him to win.
And btw Jeff satur can play Song Juhan, his body, hairstyle pretty much similar to Song Juhan but whenever I think of Song Juhan, this chinese influencer model comes to my mind, I follow him on insta and over the time he has become Song Juhan in my mind lol. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DWGk3_JkYWg/

Sissy is getting adaption? which country? Thailand or china? I kinda prefer china over thailand, I don't like thai BL adapting chinese novels or korean manhwas. Many people loved that Body double thai adaption but I didn't, and same is happening with Payback current ongoing adaption. because no matter what I can't get the same emotions as original source from thai adaptions. Whereas cbl actually does justice to certain extent to original source like Addicted (both versions), even this one as well, they are doing amazing job here then sammy's children's day, revenged love, To My Shore etc.

Same, both are my most favs. Beloved enemy was my entry into 188 novels. I have watched Beloved Enemy's censored bromance series first which made me want to read original novel and then I started reading other novels as well. I have read Beloved enemy, Years of Intoxication, that body double novel and Sissy. Except Sissy I loved all, but no.1 is Beloved Enemy, then Years of Intoxication and at third that body double novel.
I have read novels, not manhua, i tried manhua bcz after I read novels, coincidentally Beloved Enemy, Years of Intoxication & Sissy got serialised, I read them upto 10-15 chapters but I couldn't go further because detailing done in novel is on another level, i legit used to feel like I'm in that universe and I'm seeing main lead's love story unfolding infront of my eyes in real time. But while reading manhua I didn't got that feeling so I dropped.
I loved Beloved Enemy and Years of Intoxication so much that I had read them twice lol.
I have read all these 4 novels around 4-5 years back but i still remember some of protagonists names very clearly like Gu Qin Pei, Song Juhan, Yuan Yang, He Gu etc.

lesser, because I don't think anyone has suffered as much as Chengxiu in 188 series of novels. Yes, stylist guy suffered the least in 188 novel series tho I haven't read his novel.

You knw what was more hilarious, shao qun actually used chengxiu's sperms and his homophobic father still must be thinking that baby is his actual heir 😂. I bet he will get shock of life when that baby grows up 😭.
It's disturbing that People are making excuses for Lu Feng while expressing how much they hate the brother, even…
Well tbh Yichen's brother did amazing work unintentionally by keeping away that green flag away from YC for 4years and then his homophobic mother also did god's work by keeping away YC from green forest for another 5yrs. I bet those 9years were unintentionally best years of YC's life lol. Evn tho YC : The victim of stockholm syndrome may not agree lol.

I have read Sissy as well and there as well ML was so toxic man, it was unbearable. At one point of time, i thought it's better if MC commit suicide, because it was just too much.

I know korea will not be able to justice to Payback but I guess CBL can do justice to original source more than thai version.
