On episode 3 and I’m not relating to the characters at all. Specifically the male lead. The way he’s treated the female lead is dry and atrocious. He can’t move on over a woman he met in Japan who ended being his brother’s girlfriend? At no point did he ever have a relationship with her! Years after, he visits the Japanese Island alone, on her birthday? Please correct me! But the script seems to be written back in the era when it was trendy to keep pinning for a lost love or non existing one, the rest of your life. Meanwhile the female lead is a charming mess. Adorable. I’m disappointed. Was looking forward to this series. Hoping for an improvement.
Underneath each action, was a mentally privileged mind, feeling betrayed and jealous. Yes, because Jira is the first human he has started caring about. He is, and will be ruthless to anyone or anything threatening him. Jira is already his. Kho is a high stakes evil genius! Superb acting!
Getting over the fact that it’s your classic Chinese drama format. The story is very compelling. I loved the reality of fostering a young poor man from a remote village, The acting was top notch. His shyness, change of environment how he saw her as beautiful fairy on earth giving way to deeper feelings. I feel it could have been done with 24 episodes. I struggled to finish it. I FF several scenes and didn’t feel I missed anything. The mother’s character was super cringe. It took away from the sophistication of the story. The leads wardrobe was very nice. A little over the top but truly sharp over all. I recommend this drama. Truly a beautiful story.
Am I the only one shocked they held the funeral at a church instead of the traditional Korean way???
The “east” including Korea was heavily evangelicalized in the 19 century. It did cause strife in several countries. Many embraced it but many saw it as a form of invasion to their traditions and precursor of foreign colonization.
i think 3 years has passed but yes they didnt state it clearly. perhaps tomorrow episode will explain the timeline.
Yeah, just stating it, because some viewers might feel that Shou Lang didn’t get a breather. But he did. He was able to establish the life he wanted with Tiantian. Have his own home and work. Even though he was courted, SL simply wasn’t interested in anyone else. Even though he wasn’t pinning for FX….But now, after at least a couple of years without seeing him ? FX took his punishment seriously, sacrificing and atoning for the long term.Making amends to the people he hurt.
Ha! Weren’t we all waiting for Shu Lang’s retribution? There it is! Brilliant, if maybe a little over dramatic. FX can have his cake, but not eat it too! What worst punishment than that?
Reading reviews on the internet, the overwhelming critique is the lack of romantic development. I liked it, but I was left confused in that department. It is what it is. I feel it didn’t deliver the punch expected from the trailer.
