Even if you add 10 more scenes per episode the writing is still poor. It's literally like a fanfiction written…
She can eat her groth all I care, if I'm the ML I would've kicked her ass out after the 3rd time she ignored my calls.
This isn't character development, this is neglecting a child. Also, this is only 12 episodes and 8 were about a love triangle. They can't save this now. They already messed it up. Even if the ending is good, it won't make the drama better. Who's gonna forget all the mess between? I won't, that's for sure.
"thats fine bc the ML is there for her which she subconsiously recognizes"
My point exactly. She knows he's there, so she can date another guy while she's flirting with her "butler" as well. That's not a woman you should keep for long or at all.
"I am hoping in our next week of episodes she will confess and apologize to him bc thats only thing to make dmg control."
Based on the teaser, I don't think this is going to happen. They might end this stupid love triangle in EP11.
For me, the best ending would be ML with Wooju and FL with toxic Boss. They deserve each other.
ALSO i feel like you guys don't get that she's only known the ml for a month or maybe two at this point? and she's…
No one gives a damn about her feelings tbh. She has one job, taking care of a 2 year old kid. That's all. Not flirting with two guys, one of which is her boss now. It's hard enough to start a relationship with someone who you work with, but if it's your boss, it's even worse. Now, add a 2 year old kid to the mix and you should be smacked in the head so you can wake the hell up from your romantic dreams.
In real life, the Child Protection Service would be all over them and have taken the kid already. Especially after they let the "dad" take care of him.
Even if you add 10 more scenes per episode the writing is still poor. It's literally like a fanfiction written…
I didn't watch that drama so I don't know.
Sure, what you're saying makes sense on paper, but it's still irritating as hell. ML is basically a butler at this point.
When he moved in I thought we might get some parenting scenes and obviously romance, but no, they barely had any meaningful scenes together, especially 3 of them. Since EP3 or EP4 SML is basically the ML.
I said this already, but this woman is clearly not qualified to be a mother yet. Tbh, she's not qualified to be in a romantic relationship either, but that's my opinion. I would never date someone who can't make up their mind and always says yes.
I don't think its the writer who is fully at fault here rather I think tvN fucked up bc they removed some scenes…
Even if you add 10 more scenes per episode the writing is still poor. It's literally like a fanfiction written by a teenage girl. No offense to teen girls. At least they can say it's not their official job. π
This drama is freakin' frustrating so here comes my rant in the next comment with spoilers.
EP7:
Is there a character who's not an idiot other than Wooju? FL is literally flirting with ML and then goes on a date with her boss twice. Let's say how it is.
Regardless of gender, I DESPISE EVERYONE who thinks it's okay to have two irons in the fire. They don't deserve to be in a real relationship. I don't give a damn about excuses. You can do it when you're a kid, but when your main priority should be raising a kid it's not okay at all. I don't care about the romance anymore, because it's obvious who's the endgame, this is just a poorly written dragged out love triangle for no reason.
I've seen a lot of badly written female characters in my life, but this girl is probably in the TOP3. She can't say no to anyone.
The whole mess at her work was also done poorly. Like, the whole situation was solved in 2 minutes, basically.
EP8 and the overall story in these 2 episodes:
You know, I really hate when parents who abandon their kids come back and act like nothing happened, but what irritates me the most is FL and ML just let him take care of Wooju even though neither of them knows shit about the guy. ML knows his past, he knows he's not someone you should trust. Yet, after 2 days of being nice, they're basically treating him like a savior. Like, that's just being stupid on another level.
If I'm being honest, neither FL nor ML deserve to be a parent of Wooju now. I don't care anymore. I will watch this till the end because it's irritating the crap out of me, so I'm curious what other mess the writer can make.
As for the SML. If he's not a pretty face, no one would say a nice thing about him. He's the main reason FL was treated badly at work, and now he keeps pushing himself and almost forcing FL to date with him, even though he knows she has other priorities. I'm talking about Wooju.
I hate egotistic men, especially as a man.
This drama should've been about how these two are trying to raise a child who just lost his parents and dealing with mental health issues, but we never see anything about this or just barely scratched the surface.
The show is called "Our Universe" in Korean "WOOJU", yet the kid is basically just a plot device and they only use him for the cute scenes.
The last 2 episodes were irritating as hell.
Also, FL's friend is like batshit crazy too. She should be locked up in a padded room. Why is she acting like a 5 year old too? I swear no one on this drama knows what critical thinking means.
Lastly, if I were the ML, I would've kicked out FL already, because I'm so done with her not answering the goddamn phone when she has a 2 year old at home, unless it's a pretty "Sunbae". Somehow she always knows how to pick up the phone when he calls.
It's one thing to have feelings for someone after 7 years IF you actually had a relationship with that person,…
Yes, it's painful but also a lot of fun and everything real life can offer. I learned later that Aesun and Gwansik was based on a real couple.
Yeah, I don't get why they need to add so much nonsense in a 12 ep long drama. Tbh, I don't really care about the episode count, because a show can be short or long it doesn't matter if the writing is bad.
I watched dramas with 50+ episodes and I loved some of those, and I watched 8 episode dramas and some were also good. It's all about writing. I don't mind fillers if it makes sense or at least is entertaining.
I can watch anything, it doesn't matter when it was released. The oldest movie I watched was released in 1922 a black and white horror: Nosferatu. A vampire movie. If the story is good, it's going to be good 100 years from now too. My problem with old movies and shows that it's hard to watch them legally or even illegaly.π
"Will The Judge from Hell have a 2nd season?"
When they won an international Award, the director said they're planning to make the 2nd season, but no date yet.
Shinhye is a great actress. I say this without any bias. Some of her older shows are not top-tier but still fun. Like "The Heirs" or "Pinoccio". The "Doctors" and "Alhambra" were kind of meh, but not because of her. "Doctor Slump" was great, and so far her new drama "Miss Hong" is also great.
Kim Jae Yeong was surprisingly good. It was surprising because I didn't know him before "TJFH", and now he was good in "Idol I" as well. BTW, he has a smaller role in "Tangerines" too.π
Lol that's fair. Honestly once the drama spoiled who the killer is, it's over for me.
Like I said, we get answers about most of the killings, we just don't see it from her perspective. I can understand if that frustrates people.
It is a revenge drama but not something like "The Glory" for example.
For me it was obvious the minute they mentioned that expensive "The One" city or what was its name, and the fact that the people who died all had a connection with that place.
Okay, they didn't spell everything out, and I can understand that most people want to see and hear everything properly, but for me it was done right. I like stories when I have to think without the writer telling me everything. The last 2 episodes were just the cherry on the top for me.
It's one thing to have feelings for someone after 7 years IF you actually had a relationship with that person,…
"I am also guided by the emotions that accompanied me while watching them."
Same, but my main job was writing reviews back in the day, but I still give better scores for many average dramas because even tho there are some flaws or even plot holes, if it entertains me I won't give a lower score t han 6 or 7.
"WLGYT" is a hard watch because it's a hardcore real life drama about women and parenting. What I loved about it is that they released 4 episodes every week. Each of the 4 EPs is basically one story/one time period, so you don't have to binge the whole thing all at once. It's also emotionally draining. So, be prepared.
"We'll probably have the return of ML's father, who got out of prison."
I'm sure he's coming in the next week or so. I'd rather watch that story than SML love triangle. Even though both are typical cliches.
"Yes, amnesia. How could I forget?"
I see what you did there. π "Dynamite Kiss" was fun till EP 8 or so, but it got repetitve, and they really messed up the last couple of episodes with insane plot holes, and like 3 cliches only in the finale. I think it deserves a place next to "When the Phone Rings", "Lovely Runner" and "Would You Marry Me?". All of these had good potential with bad writing, especially in the 2nd half. I don't think I would bat an eye on "DK" if my girl Ahn Eun Jin is not in it.
"WWW" has been on my list for I don't know how long now.π "The Judge from Hell" is also one of my fave. I'm glad we're gonna get season 2 btw. I could watch Park Shinhye all day.
Thank you for this comment. Puts things into perspective.I'm blinded by the cute guy + cute baby combo lmao. But…
He obviously loves his brother. Just because he doesn't want to see him after all the things he's done is understandable. This isn't a black a white story. No family drama is.
SML literally hired FL just because he wanted to date her. That's a massive red flag.
ML confession is not a red flag, because she doesn't have a boyfriend and he didn't force her to accept his proposal. Meanwhile, SML is literally following her everywhere.
There are clear lines that people can't cross, but SML crossed them, multiple times.
Let me ask you one thing: Would you date anybody (your CEO) who only hired you because he wanted to date you?
I can tell you now, they're gonna fire her the minute people find out why she's working for the company, and only SML can survive.
First of all, we don't know if she was her first love, not that it matters. Secondly, if he loved her that much, he could find her, contact her in the past 7 years. We live in the golden age of social media.
Also, this isn't real love. It's basically reheating an old fling.
Even if he's the ML, I would say the same thing, because the fact that he's a secondary guy doesn't erase the fact of what he did.
Sure, she said there's nothing between the ML and her, but even a blind person can see it's not true. Not to mention SML was acting like a dumbass, competing with ML and talking nonsense about her as if they're already together. Like when he said to ML that protect "THEIR" girl. Like, WTH was that?
In the last 2 episodes they spelled out everything at least 10 times, I don't think I have enough hands to count…
Come on now, it's not Mount Everest, just a small forest, park or whatever it is.
I know what I can do with a twisted ankle, I've had much worse injuries in 10 years of playing football.
You can read stories about a lot of people who had much bigger injuries, like actual broken legs, and they didn't act like a 5 year old who doesn't know what to do.
I don't really blame her, I blame the writer because it's poorly written. She got lost, her phone was off like in a low budget horror movie and she was waiting on a hill where no one could see her.
She has zero survival instinct. In a zombie horror movie, zombies would run away from her, because she's the easiest target, no fun in that.π€£
1. He's still obsessing over her after 7 years even though they never dated.
2. He only hired her because of this, and it can backfire on her later. Probably will because it's a typical Kdrama cliche.
3. He knows she has a kid and she lives with another man, but he keeps following her and flirting with her. Not to mention he's egotistical. A real man doesn't gloat about his looks and popularity.
The fact that FL didn't say no to him doesn't help either tbh.
It's one thing to have feelings for someone after 7 years IF you actually had a relationship with that person,…
I only give 10 if I can't find anything, not even the smallest thing like in "Tangerines". That's my first 10 Kdrama in 20 years and only the 3 show overall. That's how critical I am. π
My three 10/10 shows so far:
Tess of the D'Urbervilles 2008 When Life Gives You Tangerines and The Haunting horror series on Netflix (both seasons so technically it's 4 shows)
" They didn't introduce a mother figure who suddenly comes back..."
I was afraid they might do that. That would irritate the hell out of me. π"Thank God" the parents died here because these guys would do it as you said.
Same. Most Kdrama writers use the same old cliches, and I don't mind it if they do it properly. I have a lot of faves with amnesia and other "nice" cliches, but those shows don't make me throw out my TV. π In this and shows like "Dynamite Kiss" cliche is just there to annoy you.
"Korean romantic comedies need a breath of fresh air, leaving behind patterns that no longer work."
100%, but I don't think it's gonna happen because most romcom lovers just want the same thing imo. That's why it's still the most popular genre.
