Now that I understand that this is a fantasy genre, I can enjoy it more, without over-analyzing it. For the next 3 episodes I can just sit back and relax, wherever the story (and wherever Mr Lee Sun Kyun) will take me.
The plot reminds a bit of Secret Love Affair (Kim Hee Ae & Yoo Ah In). Both Main male characters are genius in their own subject. And both female leads are mature ladies taking the roles as the teachers/mentors. But I think this drama will take a different and less controversial route.
One of the strong points in this drama is the honest and healthy relationship between the leads. They don’t play with each other’s feelings back and forth. They respect each other and admire each other’s good traits openly. Not a very common plot in Kdramas I think.
Good drama, great chemistry and good main characters. The FL is so beautiful and I just love her smile. The ML…
Agree, this is better than the last hit that everyone’s been talking about (you know which one), because this one has better writing and directing. No lazy writing here. The characters and the acting are stronger too.
Dali is the perfect example of that quote: “No Matter How You Feel, Get Up, Dress Up, Show Up”. Even after she got the shock of her life, knowing the truth about her Father’s death, she still goes out to work in a perfect appearance. And I admire Dali as she always keeps her manner no matter how hard it must be to strain herself. She never swears or say anything bad. Proof that you can still act like a lady but be strong at the same time. Also notice the difference between her 2 crying scenes. For her Father, her sobs were stuck in her chest. For Moo Hak, she cries openly, letting go all of her emotions. . Gyu Young’s acting really nails her character. I hope she will get more challenging roles in the future.
