Quality production, good acting, a good (needed) adaption from the original source material, good flow and script. I'm sure if they keep this up, it will be a good one for some prizes even. 2022 is not yet half way there and we have had some very good shows already! Shout-out to the actors, they really bring the series to a next level.
Extra shout-out to the realistic kissing scenes. No more to the fake side angle kissy kiss, no more to the forced we put a gun at your head forced to 'kiss the love of your life lolz', no more to we are so lovey-dovey but kiss on the cheeks only, ... . If you are a pro and want to act in a show with BL kissing scenes, just be a pro and do it.
As for a quick run through about the series, I don't really see the problems in this series tho. Sure it was not perfect or had things we wanted to change/edit, but overall the quality change is a nice thing to notice. When you have been around for a while, we should be happy to have more quality productions. Considering the details, I would still recommend to view this show. I hope the industry in Thailand picks up on the quality before quantity. We have a lot these days, but the quality is not always better.
To counter the negative opinions a bit, here are a few positive things: * Kiss scenes (they are real, a lot and not forced) * Side couples don't overpower main couple * Begin to end story * No rape (shame this has to be included still) * No engineering (not a real thing anyways) I do have to mention they did alter some plots from the books to make it more acceptable these days (which I agree upon), otherwise some elements would not have turned out the way they did.
In my personal view, I found the sidecharacters a bit too annoying for my taste. I did however like the main plot, I think they did portray it better than expected - for most are newbies - but they could have just slightly invested more in the main plot. Overall good to watch, not that much drama :).
I'm pretty sure that I got about half of what the hell was happening there. Makes you wonder if the people in charge here watched it themselves and be like "Yeah, we gonna get an oscar for this one, I'm sure!", cause like seriously... Let us for 1s try and be like the acting wasn't that horrible (it is hard, but we will try to do it anyways), what the hell was that plot, characters, loopholes, ... Maybe it is a new thingie for the future like we pop up some random characters, some random scenes and well you can make a story out of it yourself. The only thing good out of it, is making it an example of what not to do... Seriously, don't watch it...
The confession writing was def a little odd. Personally... I would have had Akk confess, then theo come clean.…
They indeed missed some chance to make a better flow out of it, from his motivation to start this whole enchante in the book, the feelings and the confession. I mean they work with the original content of the book, but they can change elements to make it better fit or more logical. I had predicted +/- 1 episode to get to unmask one member out of the 4, but they could have made that also more interesting, now it was just more of a checklist. The raw concept was there, they did well, but the script and plot had enough material to make it better work.
Diving deeper into the series the plot is more or less the biggest weakness. I mean judging from how relaxed the main pair is up to the point we can still feel the chemistry they have, it is overall fun to watch them. I would enjoy watching Book and Force in another different series as the main couple.
When giving a review, we must also take into account that a series itself has multiple layers on which we can criticize, the actors however are imo not at fault and did great. I have seen much worse from pairings and script, and I repeat once more that I hope they get another series to portray their talents more.
Sorry, not my cup of tea. With 10min/ep and making a sidecouple take time out of the main plot, it just is rushed, making it somehow lose the emotional value you should feel in the "falling in love" parts. Quick and light to watch, they also tried to make it more or less funny at times, so overall you can easily watch it in just about a hour. Will I remember it, not a chance, but I have seen worse...
Story and plot is very good, up to the point you will bing watch the show as much as you can. Only downside in bringing such actions to show require a good CGI, which unfortunately was not here the case. Still the acting was for the most part done well, story and script was good in terms of flow, so this one is a good wuxia where the 45 eps did not bother me at all. Go watch it :)!
This is just how you make a good adaption. I mean the story does not follow everything from the manhwa, but it works and the chemistry is there. Well done for the actors!
Since I have read the manhwa myself, I have to say I find the addaption somehow a bit disappointing. I think the character of Hae bom for instance is acted too stiff, also not really any chemistry there. Might increase, but for bringing such a good manhwa, it is always a risk and for now does not pay off. It is a shame, since I enjoyed reading the manhwa a lot.
I am grateful they have so many dead moments in between their lines, makes the skipping just about perfect to even include the lines during the skipping itself. Gotta say, even Gen Y season 2 can't do that xD ...
Hmmm it looked promising from the trailer, but as we are halfway into the series, it seems suffice to say we do see the problems becoming more apparent. Lack of decor, same locations, lack of background actors and the script is not that deep or advancing. Plotwise they also have chosen the typical "best friends + girl" setting, so I must humbly conclude this one will not stay behind long into my memory.
If this was one of the first before 'addicted' etc, it might have been enough for that time, but for a BLseries they dedided to run outside China, it just is lacking (maybe budget related etc, but still) compared with the censored BLseries from China itself. Just a shame, as I do support the progress...
Oh wow the spoiler of twitter really looks promising, guess they will fit it at the end of the episode tho, since ep 5 will be halfway only. I do love the chemistry and general facial expressions from Force. Despite the low views on the official channel (partial to the last massive hit and lots of diverse shows airing), I do hope they will get some more buzz.
Looking forward to episode 5 and in general to the boys getting some more shows as a main character :)!
I agree, but eep, what I would give for a werewolf kbl. I feel like since this drama doesn’t have the runtime…
oooh werewolf sounds indeed quite fun to watch ... chocolate abs O:)... But they indeed like making (like many Kdrama) drama, but for the short runtime, it mostly gives us like hé, who is that and why are we seeing him kinda moments. Since they only have 2 plots, 1 is about kicking the bad ass, the other for some leftover smut. If they make these short drama's, either make them longer with more drama, or shorter with less drama but a good plot. Guess we will still be in waiting for the time being.
Haaa, Koreans and the BL genre, can my heart take it. The match is still the best somehow, just need to evolve. Like a good wine, it gets better with the years, sadly the years are not there yet. So we will keep waiting :p...
Being a vampire anno 2022 seems to suck with all these stupid rules too lol. Meh, at least they didn't make a werewolf clan pop out of somewhere (yet I think...). Anyway Yoon Seo Bin is such a cutie, Plotwise, hmm not my thing. Somehow I believe the utter cliché plot would have been better, you know soft and fluffy I love sucking your blood but now I love you kinda thingie, not too great but also not bad. Now it is just meh, could be better kinda feeling. Seems a waste somehow (not really the actors fault, they project what they are told), seems more the plot itself...
Watch ep 3 on my backup channel - write me a private msg
That is indeed far from being a coincidence... lmao since the episodes are available (non subbed for instance) on multiple accounts on DM and YT, so that seems rather biased to target yours alone or the eng subbed ones alone... We international fans are always grateful for subbers like you, all we can provide are kind words and encouragement as a thanks for all you do.
