Def checking this out. Her role as Lu Wu Yi in Veil of Shadows was perfect. I'm not gonna go and compare her character there to this one because that wouldn't be fair, but i hope people really see from that show what an amazing actress she is.

love between lines is so good! I got hooked on the actress when i watched MJTY but then i saw LITC and just had to watch. Loved that VR world they had

Thank you! I'm just one of a billion who can't move on from them and will have to give it more time before i have the emotional bandwidth to give it a second watch. I still stand by what i said and say the WuWu couple deserve all the love they get, i enjoyed them as well. But JiLu is just IT.

No problem! Give it and shot and let me know what you think! There's 2 couples, and a lot of love for the WuWu couple.. but JiLu is just everything. You might even find yourself looking at all the compilations long after the show ends haha. Oh and have plenty of tissues handy just in case

Yeah, it's toward the end like 21-24 and it's specifically because she's trying to save him but it that's only the beginning of her suffering. While each rewind physically, spiritually, and psychologically tortures her.. the going blind part, losing him anyway because he restores her eyesight, and dying for good all happen after. So i would say you probably aren't going to enjoy the time loop part unless you don't care about her or the main couple. To me, they were the heart of the story since the start and i loved all their interactions, it was basically how to go from "what is love?" to "an innocent and sweet first love" to "devoted love" to "sacrificial love and love across any timeline or universe". They definitely took the top spot of favorite couple for me, and i finished watching 'Love Beyond The Grave' not too long ago and that was my favorite couple (not anymore!). Wuyi just suffers way too much in the name of love.

Lu Wuyi has to be the most tragic female character i've ever seen in a drama..

1) She finds out nothing about her is real.. except her love for ji ling
2) The person she fell for turns out to be a puppet, and she's constantly fighting to get that person back when chi wen takes over
3) She finds out she's carrying a fragment of the villain that basically means the person she loves (ji ling) is going to sacrifice themselves so she can live otherwise she has to die
4) She destroys herself physically, emotionally, and spiritually through all those time loops and suffers immensely struggling to find a timeline he doesn't die in
5) Decides to sever her tail to save her lover, losing her vision permanently in the process
6) Loses her lover anyway because he sacrifices himself to restore her vision, so all that time rewinding and everything she just went through was kinda pointless since he's gone
7) Her grief and weakened mental state, she gets possessed by the villain and gets struck down, officially killing her
8) Her lover decides to rewind time far back to stop her from becoming a vessel and they end up together in an alternate world as humans, with no memories of each other or anything that's happened for the past 29 episodes. So they basically start over as strangers where they feel a soul-pull connection when their eyes meet (sweet callback to the beginning with the flowers and raspberries though)

I don't know.. to me it seems like all she did was suffer after the middle point of the show. It's like they said "what else can we do to her?" and then "is there anything else?" until the end of the show

I started watching this for JJY because i just recently finished VOS and Wu Yi has to be my absolute favorite cdrama female character, but i didn't realize this was filmed years before. Should have watched this first since she set the bar so high in VOS, but she was okay here still. The last few episodes turned into a hot mess, didn't really feel the main leads click together, at least for me anyway

Can someone spoil if it's a happy ending or an open ending? Do the main leads get to live their life together or do they not remember each other anymore

So wait.. do they spend more time as their younger selves or their older selves? Surely they don't have a reunion and get together only at the very end?

Is the ending kind of like Rattan where the final episode is bittersweet but the extra episode is the happy ending?

I'm really loving the dynamic of the yuan yuan and ren, the bickering is hilarious. Do they get some sort of happy ending too?
