Oh, really!? I have read 1-2 guys mentioned for the male lead, but I am not sure if they have decided yet.
I could be wrong, but it is pretty heavily rumored to have Liu Yifei as the main female lead. Chinese casting can be rather unpredictable, so we may have to wait until closer to the time they start filming.

Some are definitely influenced by those things, or pressured by people who have more power than they do...like the Communist government. Honestly, your perception is warped. Countries around the world, especially in parts of Africa, have real issues with not having clean drinking water. Sharing the truth of that is NOT racist.
