Also that police officer's wife may not be a killer, but I think she might have gotten rid of evidence or something like that concerning the death of his sister. She seemed strange around the male lead. I could be wrong though.

No, no, what? No to my opinion? I never watched that show. And yes, the 2nd couple is more hard or sour candy, not much substance and not that great, but can be sweet or funny to watch. I am not really a big fan of the 2nd sister or too cold/violent types. But she is alright, and the couple is cute.
The main couple and main plot are the best though!😉😋
