As for your argument about the genre of JOY OF LIFE, get this clearly. Historical dramas often fall into TWO MAIN POPULAR categories: wuxia & xianxia. However, if you wish to be more specific, then other smaller genres such as Jianghu, can come in.
More so, on Joy of Life weibo page, it has once been described as wuxia. Even here on mydramalist, wuxia is one of the genres of Joy of Life.

People that are defending this drama, saying that, it did not meet our expectation, because it's wuxia. Then, let me remind you, ladies and gentlemen, Joy of Life, is wuxia yet, it exceeded our expectations! Even, Princess Agents another wuxia, is 1000 times better than this!!!! Hence, for a high budget drama like this, there is absolutely no excuse for its poor dubbing and very bad plot & script!

The pace. Very slooooow. The plot too. Nothing we haven't seen before in a Cdrama. (Perhaps, after episode 12, where I dropped the drama, it might improve. Who knows?) The dubbing, VERY POOR for a high budget drama. And the CGI of the forest /river...damn...I'm questioning if someone stole the money allocated for this drama.
Lastly, the MAJOR GOOD thing about this drama is the fighting scenes. For that, it deserves applauds!!!!

I have watched 12 episodes and I'm dropping the drama, until I hear from lots of people, that the pace and plot has improved, else, this drama is not worth burning your time and money to watch it.
And finally, I finished 12 episodes!!! This is a VERY TERRIBLE drama. And people said, And the Winner is Love, is bad. Well, this, is far worse! At least, I finished watching that one. At first, this drama started nicely. VERY NICELY, I must say. And I started to think haters were the ones leaving bad comments here. However, it started to deteriorate from episode 3 and get worse and worse, until finally, it hit WORST! I don't think I will continue watching. Except, of course, I hear from lots of people that this drama finally improved. However, as for today, this is the END for me! I can't go on.
After watching 4 episodes, I'm no longer impressed. I thought the drama would've picked up by now. The pace is slow. Perhaps, I will continue watching another day.
After this, until I finish this drama, I will try to stop reading others' reviews (I don't want it to inflence my judgement). I'm in Episode 2, and I'm loving this drama so far.
