Oh I agree with you; competition is always an issue but the OP asked why this one didn’t get any promotion but just dropped. IQIY isn’t even the worst; Tencent rarely promotes its dramas. They expect the actors and their fans to do it; free marketing which is cheap and underhanded coming from a multibillion dollar conglomerate.

Nothing to do with the other drama at all. They dropped it without warning because they screwed up the contracts of the leads; saying one thing in one and something else in the other. So in order to not draw further bad publicity to themselves, we got SW4 shelled out to us right before the other one. SW6 had some promotion for maybe a week prior, they’ve had a Weibo page for a while, even a normal cover image here since I don’t know when. The storyline didn’t appeal to me, hence not watching; but I like XK’s acting so hope he does well in it after coming off of “Wonderland of Love.” This one literally created a Weibo account and dropped the drama the next day. I watched it unfold on Weibo and X.

You know, I’d rather focus on the show and the storyline rather than giving any troll on here the time of day. You know that’s exactly what they want; attention. Why buy into it? I haven’t watched today’s episodes yet but from the previews, looks like some shit is about to go down. That Grandmaster bitch and the white haired dude will probably be more trouble than the demons. Both have already tried to steal the sword.
