It seems very much like what happened in Ace Troops the girl he loved originally after he got injured basically ran away. I think they have to grow up and go through trials and tribulations before they end up together and by them I mean ML and FL. I do not think they’re ready yet at this young period in life to be together. At least that’s what I gathered from the credits.
A little bit of everything in these 4 episodes; love quad, territorial disputes amongst gangs/brotherhoods, random doses of propaganda which can be ignored though they’re cheesy when they do appear, brotherhood of the MLs, comedy, lots of ice skating….not bad. Good start to a slice of life 70s era show.
P.S. Only watching this for XZ but I’ve seen LRL in a few dramas and he’s an awesome actor so really like him here as SML. Also LQ of course; it’ll be interesting to see her character and ML finally have a relationship as both actors have collaborated before and never quite got there lol.
Todays episodes were much better at the general investigations and defendant vs prosecutor. Even had some semblance of comedy. Finally saw XME's style and yeah he's def more tech geekish than office apparel; pants weren't too bad lol. May have two dudes interested in An Ni but their overall banter and trust in each other is great. Prof Luo and Mr. Cruela Deville are def using every loophole in the law; hope Xiaobei's dad never signs it and tells HLY about them harassing him. Have to remember only 1 episode the next two days. But def better storytelling in these two; we get to see our characters with lives not just robot work.

She’s not really the the general as that’s the dude with the glasses. I know we have to look at her cases as she’s the FL but a livestream and help mom, plus the 7.23 project, locate xiaobei, the entire company mess; they’ll probably all end up in one case at the end anyways. Just don’t give her so much the audience feels 😵💫😵💫😵💫 lol.

The actor who plays Zhu Xin or wife murderer has played similar slow semi antagonist or just unfeeling characters before. So no surprise that they cast him as the same sloth moving one here.
I agree with most of your points; it needs less meetings and long-winded conversations and more interactions of cast working investigations or just general communication, court room trials, and interrogations. I like Xiaobei and what I think his plan is but he needs back up; can’t do all of that alone.
They also need to show the other characters introduced for more than 3 minutes or less and why they matter. So hopefully that’ll keep unraveling itself but just a bit faster as we move on.
