I never read the source material so I don’t know how old anyone is. He may not be psychic but his deductions alone every time he’s been on screen have exceeded the norm like Sherlock Holmes or Hercule Poirot level. So that can’t be an excuse. Furthermore, when prince asswipe first came to visit him, Wuxin already sensed and saw first hand this douchebag’s cruelty level.
