This is such a great question. I'm wondering for these lower caliber dramas, if the actors are allowed to over dub themselves as opposed to bringing in a cheaper over dub actor. Usually though not always, modern dramas have the real actors while costume has the over-dubbers, unless it's some A-Lister that insists on the use of their own voice. Would be great to find out how it worked in this case too.

Yep, I was just discussing this with another person below. It's so ridiculous how many of these dramas see the need for this kind of a character. Ruins the comedy and good vibes.

🤣🤣🤣at "Thing 1 and Thing 2". Dude, that had me rolling. I think grandma may have mom's soul or something equally trippy. Yeah they said that her soul was gone when the gorilla glue took it. So if you connect that to every time she needs help, he gets a ding in his head from that necklace, their connection is way deeper then anyone else's. There should be a wedding probably in the last episode as they've previewed it. At least YC doesn't try to harm FL or ML as Thing 2 does.

LMAO! You summed that up perfectly. I was actually going to post here about grandma, something fishy about her. She has what I like to call a “selective” illness; in this case dementia. All of her comments have been a little too on the mark. Her actions too. As for CY, I think he saved her too and then the memory was wiped for the both of them. The necklace seems to contain both of their souls. So maybe he left it with her as a way to protect her in life. Our fave 3rd wheel has to understand annoying the life out of CY to leave ain’t gonna work. He’s got no chance, just be happy as her friend then nothing at all.

Making it make sense is apparently too hard. This is where we yell at the screenwriter; their inexperience at making a good villainess has these dumbass characters emerge. The actors just play the roles, which makes me question why anyone would want these roles, clearly you turn off the audience with this. But since there's a shortage of good roles (playing devil's advocate here), I guess it's better then nothing.

I don't know why they're needed because there's so many dramas without them and have proper antagonists or SFL's or support handled just fine. Horribly written cardboard characters, it's the same formula just slightly changed to fit into a costume/modern drama. "If I can't have him, no one can" or "even if he says no, I'll still get him" mentality has got to go!

In 17 or 18 previews, she kicks our FL off a cliff. The chick is a nightmare. She's very unnecessary.

I've actually never come across any dramas that I've felt referenced the SML as the better looking guy unless it was part of the plot, so I can't say. I doubt it was intentional but who knows really? Only the director, screenwriter, and costume designer would know the answer to that question. I stand by the overdone wig part. I follow both male leads and was wondering how XYL did in terms of acting in costume drama, he's playing this character pretty well.

The character’s styling is a bit odd. I think they put too many knickknacks into his wig. Just simple flowing hair would have sufficed. We know he’s the SML, so styling him with the “look at me” stuff, imo didn’t work for him. As for what you call his “personality”, that’s his character. It’s not the actor, he’s playing that role. So on that, I disagree. Considering the role he has to play; a 3rd wheel who though wants only the best for FL, still comes off as a bit selfish in his tactics, he’s very believable.
