I agree with this. I mean I felt sad that GL couldn't get a proper education and this is his chance to do so.…
We've heard this same story over and over; only now with an extra part. I feel the screenwriter isn't even trying at this point.

This drama is strange and bizarre and not very well written; however what I like about it other then the cheesy comedy is how sincerely they approach the subject of death and organ donation. It's a topic still very taboo in many countries and nobody really wants to openly speak of it without appearing morbid or gloomy; many are afraid of it which is also understandable. But here, it's tackled honestly with a mix of humor and humility, which makes me appreciate this little drama a lot more.

Ikr? I was starting to think that heโ€™s not that bad and then he started a sob story about his brother, how he…
I'm fully questioning the capacity of the screenwriter here. We're halfway done with the series, every character that's still alive is growing and evolving, except for him and he's the FML. 4 episodes of decent growth and evolution for the character just to slide him back to "woe is me"? Like dude, your comrades in arms have perished while you're still alive, that whole spiel is no longer valid. I'm a novelist, I have no idea why this is happening.

The emotional toll in 20 and 21 is very heavy. Though GYY is still in full grief mode, him standing up for both ZF and AX in the movie theater is admirable. I love Ah Xiu's quiet strength. My only confusion is why is it that every time GL doesn't get something, he goes with the sob story to make ppl feel sorry for him? He's already got half the commanders on his side. I really liked his character development these last 4 episodes and then we return to the same thing. Just as they evolve him a bit, he slides right back into that old habit. I'm curious what the writers were thinking at this point. Proper evolution of a character shouldn't be one step forward and two steps back.

Who's that? You think by the end of this season, XFN will be able to fight that Wang guy and get Old Huang's sword box back?

there is definitely real romance in the episodes to come
I forgot to ask; will that Cheng guy always be so passive-aggressive towards Xiaoyu or will he get over it? He wants to cause her pain and harm; why?

Can understand why as XFN is the only son who can be equally cunning like XX eventually as he gets older.
I didn't read the novel so I have no idea. I just hope as this season winds down, we'll get a proper ending to the series.

He's already cunning, though he doesn't have crystal ball ๐Ÿ”ฎ to see the future in 80 different ways like dad does. We've got 8 episodes left; I hope it won't end on a cliffhanger just because waiting for seasons 2 and 3 may take half a decade.

No matter where XFN goes, there's at least one person trying to kill him. Like ppl, give it a rest already.

Just watched the two episodes from today and for the first time, everyone's acting was on point. GYY's grief at losing his brother-in-arms and platoon leader was shudder-worthy. Just rip heart out of chest and shatter into a million pieces. That kind of raw grief that goes from hope to denial to disbelief to bone-crushing understanding but still with a sense of "this can't be" as he let out truly visceral, utterly primal screams is unmatched and indescribable. XZ has come leaps and bounds in his acting. That scene where they return and maybe 7are left in the company with the flashback of everyone else, you can sense the disorientation in their leader; like a waking nightmare that won't end. More pain upcoming and it's so much to realize that many of them were just 19 year old kids. To say these episodes were powerful, would be a massive understatement.
