As for it not finishing both parts, I went back to Weibo and checked the site and it seems the source I had from that time was incorrect and I replied to someone on that thread that I was mistaken. Im one for facts over rumors any day of the week, but I'd like to keep conversations non combative. Again to each their own.

Well he was 20 when it was filmed and 21 when it was released. It's got war in it yes but the equality between the leads is wonderful; no cliches or tropes, none of this madness that we have here. All of the side ppl are relevant too. Slow burn romance for all couples but our leads are equal to each other.

The reason for that is actually quite simple; both leads have their own fans plus take into account that there aren't any good dramas out. Pearl Eclipse just started so don't be surprised that this will drop off viewership soon. As I explained to someone, when there are very little or no good dramas out; even poor ones will top charts.

There is no actual plot unless that includes a bunch of delusional ppl trying to get with the leads even though the leads have all said no. That's not a plot, it's a disaster.

It really is. Like she was raped and rebounded within the same episode like nothing happened; it's unreal. She's like the ghost of Xmas past; everywhere!

I loved TLB. Watched it when it aired. If it wasn't for the cartoons and the lackluster kiss btwn the leads, TLB would have gotten a 10 from me. It's the best costume drama this year in my book. This catastrophe here doesn't come close.

Plot had maybe 40 minutes of the last 6 episodes. And well, Gao is of course everywhere.
