This just makes me remember pagers and cell phones in 1999. I don’t even think I was able to have one until I reached senior year in high school and only for emergencies and that was like 2000 to 2001. I never had a pager and I never wanted one though I did have an option as my mom told me I was allowed to get one in middle school, but I thought they were noisy and annoying lol. But their cell phones definitely look way better than what I had, that all I have to say lol or even my super rich classmates.
So big difference is that ML exists in and out of the book. And we know that from the get go as opposed to maybe later and he’s the editor or game creator or whatever. Which gives it a higher chance of a good HE without let’s get to know each other again (I hope) in the end.
