Just about every agency pays for the hot searches for their clients or poor/attacking ones for competitors. That's why most times the hot search isn't reliable. I'm actually not surprised they showed it. Why wouldn't they? Sina doesn't own the production. Anyone who's been around weibo knows this. It's funny when ppl get arrested because it's like this so isn't new and if ppl act shocked, they live under a rock.

Read the reviews, it's a worthwhile watch. I don't remember now which episode they got together in but there's no love triangles or misunderstandings, zero breakups. I don't think they had a kiss but the series is more of a crime / palace politics drama. That said, the couple worked together and were equals. Hope that helps you.
