May I ask if anyone here is over 35 years old, knows 80s tv, and can tell me if this series gives off "The Thorn Birds" vibes? Only those folks will understand the reference.

I love LOVE your assessments on these shows. So awesome! I've never gotten into KDramas, don't know why. Started very randomly with cdramas back in November of 2019 with Princess Agents and followed Zhao Liying into this rabbit hole. CQL is still my favorite costume drama as that thing deserves at least one Oscar, but I also love Pillow Book (speaking of hot men, Vengo Gao is one fine chunk of change), and modern dramas thus far I only really like Boss and Me and Gank Your Heart. I really want to see Oath of Love, but I think that's a majority of ppl. I usually watch for actors I follow as there's a plethora but once in a blue moon it's the plot that fascinates me here. Ironically I'm all for plot and character development when I write my novels so I'm really tough on the scriptwriters in my reviews if the thing bombs with plot and/or character development. But an attractive man does go a long way as long as his character can grow appropriately too.

I do actually like them. I have just taken a break from them for a while after watching three in rapid succession (The Wolf, Legend of Fei, and Duolou Continent). I'll watch this then "You are my hero" don't know any of the actors but the plot looks interesting and return to costume dramas with "The Long Ballad" as that's premiered today. I'll have to check out "The Four", thank you for the recommendation!

LMAO! He seems to have gotten the short end of the stick in this drama with all these idiot characters. Quality for Boss and Me is poor because it's back from 2014 I believe. FL here has grated on my nerves since day one. She's brilliant as a designer but dumb as rocks everywhere else and apparently was born without hormones lol.

You both should watch "Boss & Me" if you haven't already. He's the best there plus the FL is Zhao Liying and that's never a loss. I think it's literally his best work on modern dramas. I'm only watching because of him and only on episode 13 so I have a feeling I will be smacking a lot of these characters with chairs before it's all over. I do hope it's a happy ending though. I do skip a lot too. Hate whiny women and sleazy men. I love how you guys said it went from a love quad to a pentagon; guess that's better then a pentagram lol! These extra morons need to exit stage left ASAP!

Lol I'm taking a break but will watch tomorrow. I heard the sister of SML returned on her own volition. And to think there's 45 episodes. How many times will they break up and make up? And other shit lol.

I do hope SML and SFL get exposed as I think they were the ones who sabotaged FL's dress in the competition. Plus hope ML learns that SML took FL to see his mom and told her all that stuff. Seems that SFL is one obsessed person which makes her the perfect combo for SML, equally crazy.

That was the whole point. I'm glad, plus he's got the play which I really hope they live stream eventually.

Right? Furthermore, none of their actual titles get translated into their English titles. Examples: "Being A Hero" is really "Ice, Rain, Fire." Why not leave it at that? Or "Eternal Love of Dream" is "Three Lives, Three Worlds, the Pillow Book." I'll take the longer title but don't confuse people! If Tencent can't even promote properly, it has no hope with title creativity.

They need to retire all of those. And not every title needs the word "love" in it. Like lots of words in every language to use. Move on folks.

Between now and when they finish, it'll probably have Eternal Love in the title or Legend of something or other.

The role will be rewritten anyways to be a more even keeled two lead drama.
