I think if you’re going to have a couple in a series, then both sides should be represented equally. You can’t just have a love interest for the male lead or the female lead and just have them appear every so often whenever necessary. And apparently this story has all these other folks as well, so it would be nice to have a complete background of everyone. Especially now that we are seeing that the ML apparently has a second name so I guess they are going to give him something else. We’re all guessing here at this point because it’s quite obvious they’re not gonna go entirely by the novel. It’ll be interesting once it comes together.

I know; I’ve seen them all. Yesterday’s was the best so far I think the general population on X agrees. It has to be a new character because I looked everywhere on Weibo. I even looked on Baidu and translated some of that and nowhere does that other name appear so the screenwriter I guess is taking creative liberty to pop up with a new character thing. I wonder if that’s to differentiate the characters that appear in both the historical and the Republican era times. But what I don’t understand is if you already have a full novel that apparently people like; why create more? Just use what was already written and write a nice cohesive screenplay.

Ok, I guess we’ll see. Already a deviation and they just started filming.

Ok apparently CZY has another character name; Cang Hui. But not sure how or where that fits in the story be it from the book (I don’t read the source material) or how they’re adapting it into the series, but today he’s filming as that character 🤷🏻‍♀️. Novel readers help!
