In my opinion, If you don't see great chemistry between actors,it is all you, you probably don't like something about the actors, in other words, there is no chemistry between you and the actors. For example, many people say- what great chemistry Zhaolusi had with her costars , for me it's zero, sorry if you like her, but that's how it works for me. .
this drama was set in ancient republican era. at those times, it was pretty normal

Can you imagine such a situation, your neighbor adopted a small girl and treat her like his daughter( sister) , after she grew up to a beautifull lady, he made her to his lover.
