Pheem keeps wondering why Jira can't draw him as he drew Koh and after finally meeting the full painting? Yikes! It's like the saying goes, be careful what you wish for.
After rewatching episode 8, despite the confessions, the rainy kisses and the atmosphere, what stood out for me was the ending when Pheem's painting was finally revealed.
Pheem is painted as tension. Jira's depiction of Pheem lacks spectacle. For me, what the art reveals is Jira's state of mind. When he draws the "delicate and strong" Koh, he elevates Koh's desire into something floral and sacred, compared to Pheem's very human flat presence. Koh's paintings are throbbed with sensuality.
When Jira feels alive, the canvas breathes and evokes his desire. There's intimacy, there's warmth, there's invitation, and most importantly, color blooms like newly opened flowers. 🌺
With Pheem, it's like Jira finally recognizes the man hidden inside Pheem: a figure that's unsettling, unfinished, a long work in progress. There's no desire lingering there. He paints Pheem as he sees him, no imaginative symbolism, compared to how he paints Koh.
Pheem asked for it because he kept begging Jira to draw him as he drew Koh, trying to force creativity on canvas. He wants to be seen as desirable to Jira's eyes, but Jira's like nope, here's some accuracy instead. Based on Pheem's posture, almost tortured, it feels like someone given rather than someone chosen.
Jira isn't celebrating Pheem. He didn't paint a lover, he painted a loss because Pheem - although part of Jira's becoming - is not Jira's destination.
As for whatever relationship Koh thinks he has with Jira, it's moving super speed fast. Its going to crash and burn and they'll have no choice but to part. Its a disaster in the making. I feel as if Koh values Jira more in his life than Jira values Koh in his. Who knows? Maybe in the end they'll make a truce and stay friends? 😜
I know! Koh always looks peaceful when he's asleep. I feel like next episode will be KohJira honeymoon phase,…
If this series were to say, at least 14 episodes, I think we might have gotten some of these tropes. With only two episodes left, I can't think about what revenge Pheem can exact except being spiteful. 🤔 But he did tell Mawin that next time he'd be the one to make Jira pay, so let's see if he'll feed Jira some of Koh's secrets or leak something.
Pheem rubs me the wrong way for whatever reason. Koh is not a good guy either, so tell me why I don't hate him?…
He knows Pheem's struggles and yet, Mawin seems to have his own agenda. I hope it's not true for Pheem's sake seeing that we only have two episodes left. If Mawin were to say he's been harboring a crush on Pheem for a while, then it'd make sense in the way he was dishing out advice.
Exactly. Like he was confident that Jira would come. Jira complains a lot, but truthfully he does like Koh and…
I love seeing Koh being all giddy like a high schooler, but at the same time, he moved with the speed of a jet plane. Koh opening up but by bit is always a highlight.
I think now that Jira did it with Koh, I feel like Jira might tell Pheem that he's with Koh. And I also feel like…
Based on the preview, I think Jira did, but Pheem still thinks he has a chance. Or Jira didn't and Pheem found out on his own. Jira is a two timing bastard who needs to learn that he can't keep two men happy so hopefully episode 9 close that chapter. Its been drawn out too long now.
I loved reading this, nice observations! Didn't even think the mastermind could be one in forensic team. Its definitely…
It sure is! I was thinking that if one of them is involved (possibly Jay), they're providing the inside secrets that's getting everyone knock off one by one. Great theory! Well, we'll just have to wait and see now because I too, am tired of thinking. 😂

FINALLY! My MileJen ship is sailing! Best highlight of this episode for me.
