The fact that so many people are annoyed at Ryan just goes to show that Gun managed to portray his characters…
Gun is a brilliant actor! He embodies whatever character he is given. If you want him to be the "damsel in distress" he's going to be just that. If you want him to be a psychopath, he's going to become one. I can never complain about his acting because I consider him top tier when it comes to acting in Thailand. When his new series comes out, many are going to be praising his acting because those are the roles many seem to appreciate him in the most.
Jane's got the ladies singing his sexy praises... and who can blame them? I'm basically the captain of that club. 🙃
So, this is what I take away from this episode:
* I want to slap Ba-Mhee. Judy is too kind and patient with her.
* Jane. Jane. JANE! I need a breather. I'll talk about Jane later.
* Ryan is out of his element here. After all, he is an Economics student and he doesn't know anything in this field. However, this was his 3rd day of internship, and he was reliable in the end.
* Pie. The poor girl has to remember that this is not like the accolades she has received in college. I know that she's eager and excited to sink her claws into everything, but this is real work, not a playground, and it's what internships are for. Also, please, Pie, stop getting Ryan in trouble.
* Can't wait for that Pie and Pah pairing! It's gonna be chaotically sweet!
* I want to slap Ba-Mhee.
* I love the fact that the shaky camera technique was used to emphasize the chaos on the set.
* I love that Jane took accountability on behalf of his interns. It shows that underneath the strict demeanor, he's a good mentor and a responsible leader. I also love that he taught Ryan the importance of an apology.
I'll post my thoughts later as I have a ritual of watching it twice before I could say what I really think: once with my sister & then when I'm alone. So far, I'm LIVING for Jane in today's episode.
I'm not from Thailand. And despite 'Cooking Crush' not being a hit with international viewers, it was a hit with Thai audiences as that's the type of comedy they go for.
I'm not sure about this entire viewership thing, but YouTube viewership is a part of it. Also, social media engagements (especially X). There was a video of Tha (GMMTV's CEO) talking about it, but sadly, I didn't pay attention. Thailand heavily relies on social media engagements. I don't know the ins & outs 100%.
Maybe I've been spamming this section here and there with some of my silly replies, but it's because I'm happy to see that the majority are enjoying the series, the entire cast, and the hard work that was put in to make the engine run.
I'm also happy to see the positive comments for both Off and Gun's acting. I know that we might never get another "Not Me", but whatever they give us, I'll gladly take it. And if Gun wants to capitalize on his "youthfulness" for a little while longer, who am I to be angry at him? He has worked hard over the years in the industry, and if he wants the rom-com, k-drama type of series, just give it to him. We're not under any obligation to watch them, so there's no need to be hating on the roles he's been choosing lately.
