You can tell Vee's love is real. Did you see the way he was sobbing? If he was faking, he wouldn't have any emotion. So I think San knows that Vee's love isn't fake, but still wants to make sure. Because unlike the fake Ms. Wad, Vee only wanted the stone to save his grandma because he loves her so much and can't live without her.
