DISCLAIMER: I'm sure some people will disagree with my opinion and I'm fine with that. I'm sharing this because these were my initial thoughts immediately after binging the show. If you don't want to read anything about the series that isn't positive, please skip this post. If you feel personally attacked by my OPINION, I understand. But if you feel the need to lash out at me because I shared it, I will block you and not respond.
I only finished the show because it's been on my plan to watch list for 3 years. But besides the makeup, effects and a few solid acting performances, it's hard to think of anything positive to say about the series other than I'm glad it's over.
The first half was filled with selfish characters who seemed to make it their mission to get the selfless characters killed. The fact that even in the final episode, people were screaming loudly at each other, even though it was established EARLY in the series that loud noises attracted the zombies was beyond irritating.
The story at the heart of the series was very compelling. But since sooooo many Thai series center on how evil rich people use poor people to get what they want, watching it play out in this series felt overly predictable. Especially since there were sooooo many characters and most of them were barely fleshed out.
I get why Mandee inlcuded nearly their entire roster in this series, but everything with the cheerleaders was a distraction and took time away from the characters who were actually deserving of more backstory. In the end, it was Ning, Non and San's story. But really, it was just Ning's and since I couldn't relate to her at any point in the series. Having to watch her cry, yell, look confused, act like her opinion was the only thing that mattered, while being insufferable for 7 episodes was completely exhausting. Besides Fah, she was the only female character that I couldn't stand.
It's unfortunate that writers didn't bother to write an ending. What we got was a cliffhanger, teasing a possible sequel. If there is a sequel, I won't be watching it. The good parts of this series were better than most. But the bad parts ruined my overall enjoyment of the series. So I can't recommend it unless you're a fan of the actress playing Ning or enjoy watching people make terrible decisions that result in the deaths of people around them for 7 straight episodes.
The chemistry between JimmySea is so special. GMMTV always has average plots, but the great ships are what make me keep watching every time. I've dropped a bunch of series this year, but I'm glad I stuck with this one. I hope JimmySea get a new series in 2026.

It's such a shame. I remember a time when a 7.8 rating was high for a series and people in the comments section could discuss what they actually thought about an episode/series instead of being forced to only say nice things.
Now all the shows are flawless, the comments are just "he's hot/handsome/cute", "the NC scene was so hot/steamy", "this ship is perfect together" and no substance. I get why though, people with opinions have been chased off of MDL and the main people that remain are newer to BL and think any rating below an 8.3 is a personal attack on their favs.
This is why I barely post comments on here these days. It's not fun when it becomes an echo chamber and even when the series is average, it's treated like the best series ever made.
For me, the second couple and town's people are carrying this series on their backs. Wow, they are all soooo interesting. I hope FirstOne and Tle get a full length series as main leads after this show ends. Their chemistry is fantastic.

I didn’t love this series, but I do like Inn, Great, Aou and Boom.
I feel bad for Inn Great fans, but I hope this is a lesson to future Thai BL pairings. Agreeing to be paired in a Thai BL ship comes with expectations that extend outside of the series. We can debate whether that is right or wrong at another time, but that's the job. If someone does not want to have that type of ongoing working relationship, Thai BL is probably not the best career choice for that actor.
I wish Inn and Great all the best in what ever they decide to do next. Both are talented actors and if either or both continue to act, I hope they get projects that they are passionate about that allow them to deliver strong performances.

I agree. There were so many angles the story could have taken, but they decided to go with the most basic plot they could. I could have accepted it if the show were shorter, but 12 episodes was more than enough time to create layered characters with believable motivations and growth. But that didn't happen.

I completely agree with you. I think they had around 5-10 minutes of screentime each episode. Every time they were on screen, the show was interesting. But instead of spending more time with them we got cooking, swimming, flute lessons and a lot of barely passable french. It's such a shame. I also have no idea what the status of their relationship was by the end of the series. I'm sure the actors don't know either.
I know we live in an era where someone thinks every single BL is a "masterpiece". And where MDL has been turned into a fan page. And people aren't allowed to say anything about a BL that isn’t 100% praise without being labeled a "hater". And told not to watch the show, even as views for series decline. But I have to say that this show didn't feel like a masterpiece to me.
Mek and Dech were the only ones that felt even slightly like real people who faced real struggles and overcame them. Everyone else, including the mains, villains, servants and side characters felt like they were plucked from a greeting card or an AI generated short fairy tale that was stretched out over 12 LONG mostly empty episodes. From the beginning, the return to France felt like a promise and threat of a predetermined outcome. The grandmother and Dech's dad were just there to be evil and vindictive. The relationship between the leads felt hollow, basic, too simple and too convenient.
Overall, this show was exactly what I've come to expect over the years from GMMTV. An interesting premise, money spent on making actors look PERFECT in every scene, pretty sets, loud endless music, odd editing choices, a long time jump where the leads never fell in love with anyone else, because of course they didn't and a script that felt like an after thought. No substance, no heart and a predictable conclusion where the villains don't face the consequences of their actions and the likeable people all get a happy ending. I fail to see how that was a masterpiece, but I'm glad some people enjoyed it.

You're welcome. I've been on this site long enough to watch it change from a discussion board into a fan page for every single BL. These days it feels nearly impossible to post anything that isn't 100% praise for a series without having people get mad at you. But the 2nd couple is the only thing that's keeping me interested in this series.
Hua Yong makes this show worth watching for me. Everything he's doing to Sheng is so wrong, but I can't help but look forward to every scene with him. I wish I was into the rest of the story, but everything with the pharmaceutical companies and the side couple feels uninteresting and repetitive to me.
But the enigma alpha stuff is enough to keep coming back each week.
