The fact that JBLs almost always tell character driven stories with unique plots and strong writing is the reason JBLs will always be my favorites. This was really special. I wasn't fully prepared for the way the story unfolded, but I'm so glad I finished it.

As others have said, it was really beautiful.

In this era of an endless amount of poorly written Thai BLs, I'm becoming increasingly envious of binge watchers. Waiting until a series ends before starting it, allows you not to swayed by first few episodes that are decent and instead wait a see if a show turns to shit before picking it up.

If I knew it would get this bad, I wouldn't have started this. It's obvious what the writer wants us to feel for these characters. But the writing has completely failed to tell anyone's story in a convincing, relatible or non irritating way. They want me to feel bad for Tew, but he knew what he was getting into when he met Guy, got with Guy, left the mob life, left Guy and started stalking him THE NEXT DAY. His motivations feel meaningless, he spent the episode walking around aimlessly and that pretty much sums up his character. He's just there, reacting to whatever random scene the writer throws him into and moves on to the next.

Guy is a damsel. Nothing more nothing less. He's mostly irritated by everything in his life. He cries, he frowns, he looks confused, he falls in love in an instant, but also falls out of love quickly. He's bland and uninteresting.

Walh and Kenji are technically our villians, but they're both are just kinda there being plot devices to keep the leads apart whenever the writer wants them apart. Kenji is the least threatening, least sympathetic character I've seen in a long time. The actor is terrible and whenever the character is on camera the series immediately becomes a farce. He and his hair/costumes are a complete joke. Any mob boss who lets this guy into their ranks deserves to loss his crime empire. Not even fool would be dumb enough to trust a word he says.

Wahl on the other hand, would be the second lead in most BLs. He's a regular guy, learning slowly that he's in love with his best friend. I've seen dozens of BLs with that plot, so I won't hate him. His actions so far have been irritating and he's obviously been stringing Guy along for years. But he and Guy make sense. But MeenPing are a ship, so no matter what, Tew and Guy will end up together. Everything that happens until they get their happy ending, including Kenji finally dying, Wahl realizing he was a fool and giving Guy and Tew his blessing, the shabu restaurant opening and the gamers winning the tournament, all feel like filler to get us to obvious ending. That would be fine if I was still invested in anything happening in this series. But I'm not and it doesn't seem like most are actors care anymore either.

I agree, and I think the writers really did a disservice to Pooh with the way Charlie's character is written.…
Exactly. The other characters not understanding his motivations makes sense. But I hope the audience gets more clarity in the next couple of episodes. I want to be invested in that character, but so far I'm not.

Exactly. But if they do find more crayons and write one more minute for these characters, I NEVER want to know.

This definitely wasn't the worst series of the year, but it feels outdated in every way. This might have worked in 2017, but now the film making aspects are laughably bad, both couples were more believable as bros than as boyfriends and the absurd time travel elements make it nearly impossible to feel invested in the show.

But there is a sincerity in everything that made me not hate it. It felt like it was written by and for little kids who hadn't gone through puberty and just wanted to tell a sweet story. Everyone was smiling constantly and even though the characters never evolved, I still liked everyone. Except the coffee shop owner.

I think it was watchable until episode 9. That's when everything came crashing down and it's clear the writer ran out of ideas and was just stretching things out to fill the remaining episodes. Things got progressively worse as the show dragged to the end.

The final episode was spectacularly bad. CREEPY just like others have said. If you stop for even a second and think about it, it's odd, nonsensical and just plain off putting. I'm usually fine with age gap plots, but the way they wrote this one was a big no. That gave me Twilight flashbacks in the worst way possible.

Overall, Marc and Cooper have zero romantic chemistry and Marc seemed genuinely uncomfortable in every "romantic" scene. The actor playing Moodaeng seriously needs acting lessons. But I finished it. Though I wouldn't watch it again.

And the makeup artist should find a new profession quickly!!!!

Wait wait wait. These characters are dead to me (ok not Fifth). But I'll never watch another minute of this world. That's done PERIOD. What I meant is I'd watch another series by Xion Productions IF it's not awful. But anything with Zeke, Joel, Jason, Kim, mama Linda, boring Kendra or little Chukchuk and his family is a 100% NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO for me.

The ending made it seem like a sequel was planned. That series was great, but it's hard to imagine where they could go with a 2nd season that wouldn't be completely depressing or full of forced conflict.

I'm not ruling out future series. Mainly because there are so few Pinoy that are actually watchable that I would give a new series a chance. But if it's clear from the first episodes that it's on par with Our Story, I'd quickly drop it and not sit around for 13 weeks of misery. Also, this is easily the worst series by Xion productions. I think it's basically impossible to make a good BL sequel especially if it's written and released so soon after the previous season. This crap was doomed at conception!

That EarthMix series had it worse though, isn't that the one exclusively available in Disney+ when it aired? At…
Yes, I think EarthMix had it worse. Cupid's Last Wish only aired on Disney + and then months later on youtube when the hype had already died down and most fans had already watched elsewhere.

I agree that it's part of the business, especially these days. But it's still rare for GMMTV to have BLs with cut/uncut versions. I just wish OG weren't the latest test case for the company to expand their reach. But I'll keep watching either way.

Yeah all of that is a factor. If their relationship hadn't developed sooooo fast, I'd be fine waiting for more development or character growth, but we met the guy and 2 weeks later he moved in. So yeah, it seems like pacing issues created by the original author that weren't resolved by the current director/screenwriter.

100% Uhaul relationships exist, but not in a situation like this. Babe's whole org is under threat at the exact same time that this random kid shows up and Babe is so dickmatized that he let's him invade his entire life. Umm what?!?! If Charlie is that good in bed, SHOW ME, otherwise I won't believe it!

That washcloth has been a BL staple forever. It brings back fond memories whenever I see. Even though I know it had no business being there. Like what exactly caused his fever? Sleeping in a chair for too long 🤔

Same, Pooh or Charlie ain't working for me. Babe letting him move in and not really questioning where he came from or why he's so sus, isn't believable. So during their cute/sweet moments I just keep wondering why Babe is putting himself in this situation.
