I have watched all the released eps and so far i'm enjoying this series.but i have to say that this drama suffers from poor writing and unfortunately the actors are getting hate for it.
I don't understad the ml being posisoned mistakenly by fl plot at all. It feels like they didn't know how to introduce and connect the characters in a short time so they did this to quickly bring the poison guy in the team.the whole poisoning sequence felt stupid tbh. on the other hand they created an almost perfect ml, a genius and also good at fighting.in this case between ml ,zhuge and poison guy the fl is completely useless.so they had to make the ml weaker to make room for the fl and other characters.the problem is how they approached it. If they had to go with the poison plot they should have poisoned the ml in his 3 years away,then make him come back because he knows he doesnt have much time and wants to wrap things up with the help of others and clear the misunderstanding with his wife and then introduce the poison guy in a different way.they just chose the most stupid and convenient way.
Also i notice some details that are just annoying like ml standing in a corridor while everyone else is searching the mansion for the lost son in the tailor plot and no one notices him.
They also made zhuge being on their tail but conveniently he hasn't found out about ml yet and they are not even that secretive when they go outside.
Overall if we overlook such details the cases and the story is quite enjoyable and it's not bad as a low budget drama.I also enjoy looking at WXY 😁.hope he gets better script and higher budget dramas in the future.

I think the person the mother tried to protect was her maid not Huo Dairong. The maid is very sus.

The plot twist I'm looking forward to is Yesha and Beiming being genius twins.😁 But it probably won't happen.

I liked the first 8 eps. The only problem i have is with the ml being poisoned and how arethey introduced this plot. They chose to poison the ml in the most stupid way. It could have happened on the boat when he was knocked out or even in his three year search but they chose a stupid way.maybe they thought it's more poetic if ml is poisoned by his lover.

Untill now this series is more watchable compared to the previous FSMM. I like the ML and most of the other characters are also quite likeable. One problem that i have is with Liu shishi. Her face looks emotionless i'm talking about the eyes and eyebrows .her body is too stiff and i feel she is always posing. She was good at SOTD and scarlet heart and a journey to love. Her body was more relax her face was different.I really couldn't feel her acting in kill my sins and i can't feel her acting here. Some of the characters interaction with her also doesn't look natural and feels forced?! Without a good flow. In the last ep the emotional scenes of yang yan i could feel her pain and sorrow but it's not the same with Huaizhu.
I think the director overused the close filming of their faces and it almost irritated me.i hope it gets better.
I'll keep watching because i liked the story line till now i hope it doesn't disappoint.

I don't get why c-dramas don't invest more on good screenwriters and scripts.so much money was spent on this series but the weak script made it look cheap.
I watched because i like the actors but i don't get why they chose this script.
The whole story makes sense if the ML also remembers the past otherwise why did he suddenly decided to go to the capital and cause so many changes.why he didn't go to the capital to investigate the death of his comrades in previous life?
They want to depict Nanwu as a very scary state with so much resources and many spies but then when they show them they look like a poor village that is struggling to survive.you want me to believe that two armies are stationed at the border just for them and still couldn't defeat them?
At first they introduce prince Qi as a very cruel and ambitious person that nothing can stand between him and the throne.then at the last ep he is like mommy i'm going to help people to realise my dreams wth.

Did real Saeon really kill the orphans? or did the psycho grandpa kill everyone that came into contact with him and blamed the murders on him?
We still haven't seen any flash back of him killing anyone . grandpa was sure capable of killing.

I was wondering whether it was his brother or his father that shoot the arrow that killed them in ep1? Is the woman teaching spear fighting to his younger bro his bio mom or an step mom?

I am still saying what i said my understanding of this series was that it was a hero's journey and it was ZYC. This is what I got from the amount of focus that was on this character and how the story progressed.
An orphan boy with a tragic past.and we are constantly reminded of how lonely he is by watching shots of him hugging a tree or sitting alone drowning in his sorrow.
His enemy knocks on his door and invites him on a journey and makes a deal with him.
They encounter enemies and they constantly highlight his swordmanship .
He learns some new moves and tricks with the help of his enemy.
Makes new connections and friends.
Goes through an ordeal ,his body changes ,his mind changes.starts to sympathize with his enemy
Wants to sacrifice, goes to battle ,geta a power boost ,fights the enemy, loses his loved ones, goes through another ordeal and has to make a hard decision and at last he goes on another journey ...

Not my hero but apparently the director's and screen writer's hero.
It is completely clear that the director's focus was mainly on ZYC character and you can tell by the screen time he gets ,the fight scenes and many other things.
Overall I don't like how they handled ZY character, the story felt unoriginal and the director's story telling style wasn't to my liking. I started this drama because of HMH and stayed for the cast.
The whole thing was like someone says they sell peaches but after buying when you open the box you see apples instead.

For me the story was a hero's journey and this hero was ZYC.this is what i got from the camera work and how the story progressed.
The call to adventure came from ZY and he had the role of the hero's mentor.
ZY could also be the tortured hero but he was overshadowed by ZYC.

I commented about this when i was watching the earlier eps.
I think from the start ZYC was the main character. the whole series was about his development and him getting upgrades.the issue is the actor is new and yet not that famous.introdcing ZY as ML is to bring in the audience and attract invesment.
While watching i felt that:
Main character ZYC
Main lead: ZY
FL: WX(she feels more like a secound lead)
SML : LL
and The rest of the team BJ, YL and PSJ are the main support.

The best part of this drama was the cast.really enjoyed looking at these very beautiful people, I have to say the only thing that kept me watching was the cast. But for the story i felt like they have thrown some parts of Inception, x_men ,avengers and some chinese elements in a mixer and came up with a story.Zhu Yan reminded me of professor x and Li Lun is the magneto.Ao yin reminded me of mystique and there were other similarities.
The whole drama felt like it was played on one big fake theatre stage with only the main cast on the stage.we repeatedly see them sitting on the stairs and thinking.why eveyone is taking turns to sit on the same stairs and drown in their sorrows can't they sit in a room, on a terrace or on roof top?i got bored watching them on those stairs.I guess they spent so much money on the stairs that they couldn't build anything else and had to use them so much or maybe the director has weird aesthetics.
Using this misleading trick to first show a scene and then show a flash back to surprise us and tell us no it wasn't like that, repeatedly was tiring.it could be fun but they over used it.
The humour was sometimes fun and other times very cringe.The dialogues were also not that well written.there were a few good dialogues throughout the show but most of it was meh.
I felt the female lead was there just to pass censorship.didn't try to develop her character and prefered to focus mostly on ZYC and then ZY.
I don't know if this director is in charge of casting himself or not, but his dramas have some beautiful and talented actors in it. Maybe he does a better job as a casting director.I don't like his story telling style at all.
I feel like this cast had so much potential but it was wasted.I will really miss the characters specially Zhu Yan, ZYC and PSJ hope to see them together in a well written drama.

This drama is a visual salad.full of pretty actors and beautiful scenes. The focus probably was more on the beauty of actors and the scenes than on the story telling.
I feel the main focus of the drama was supposed to be Tian JiaRui but probably they didn't want to risk having a not very well known actor as the MC.
It has the same problems as MJTY. Actors posing for scenes ,alot of slow motion, trying so much to be mysterious that the story sometimes feels disconnected. The mystery part was abit intriguing for me while i was watching MJTY.but now that I know it is probably the result of not having a solid story and characters background ,i cannot be much invested.
The voice and screams of the child actor feels out of place it is like it's from a completely different series and was just added here.from everyones low voice and whispering to suddenly high pitches voice of this character.
the comedy has become repetitive.the child screaming and throwing up. other characters saying sth and then smirking...most of the time not even funny.
For me Li lun and ying lei looked very similar.I don't know if it's the make up or sth else.at first i thought he is li lun under cover.maybe it would have better if they casted actors with more distinguishable fratures. these two also look very similar to the SFL of MJTY. Maybe they can play as siblings in one of this director's series later.
Overall I'm just watching for the visuals and aside from that i don't think this drama offers anything else.

RRY, YY, CY, JM, Wu empress they are all my favourite Female characters,I think this series didn't have any unlikable F char.

The court of WU suddenly turned into rainbow and sunshine.
The third prince,with the logic of c-drama land i knew he was shady but didn't expect him to do all of these alone.
And this pime minister isn't someone to trust he was power hungry and manipulative.I was annoyed that NYZ just tells him everything,why show him the secound edict?fortunately at the end he turned into a decent!person otherwise they would have had another war in that palace.

They did LTG char dirty.the man won a battle in the first ep was cunning,cold and calculative then they turned him into a whining incompetent man child.he went to assassinate the enemy's king in full armour,WTH.didn't his shifu teach him that?and he bacame a saint who wants to help others in the middle of the war!the battle in ep 39 was so stupid who fights like that.I think the writer or producers were like well this char must die we don't care how stupid the events leading to his death is.all these people are at the top of their game and we were supposed to believe they are all the best ,didn't have a battle strategy?!they just went out of the gate most of them together without any thought.not one of these people who went out of the gate could read the enemy and revised their strategy if they had any?!and what about the soldiers?RY took LTG and they all started to run without thinking about the soldiers!

What was wrong with the writer such a mean blood thirsty person.
I think the last scene was added so fans don't go crazy and go after them.It was ambiguous,to let everyone decide what ending they like.I think It was CY imagination.

Exactly she should have went back with NYZ.her relatives atleast had to save face and give her credit.but in An she is an outsider has no support.her brothers are more decent than An di and his son.but this is what they need for the story to continue.I think no writer can write a perfect story.
