I'm gonna drop this one at ep25, because I can't take it seriously, the drama is a joke and such a waste of time. I was genuinely excited for this one because of its very misleading heavy promos. The drama is bad, the directing and the writing failed really hard. The acting of the fl is mediocre, and the acting of the rest of the cast is basic or boring. Nothing looks credible, it looks like everybody is cosplaying their roles.
Lowkey skipping most scenes without the cp and watching all the scenes about the cp twice hmm maybe thrice, this is how freaking lovely the chemistry between them is! They are so natural together !!

Precisely, my comment was mainly about the actress's acting perf, not her character's behavior. The duality of her behavior is interesting, imo. It reflects the duality of her own life, having to hide her true personality to act as a man she isn't but also could be.
I haven't read all the comments of the drama, but from what I've read, the criticisms mainly focused on the fl's lack of conviction in her portrayal, an opinion I don't find misogynistic. It's not inconceivable to think that, given the time period and the tragic tone that encompasses the fl's life, the drama should display a more visible intensity to convince the audience when it comes to the fl "inner world", traumas & else. But I also understand that some people aren't so attached to these kinds of requirements and simply want to be entertained. That being said, letting people express their opinions doesn't mean invalidating one's own.

The first 4 eps were nice, but it got boring after real fast, which lowkey suprised me LOL. I expected a lot better from this drama, the fl's acting is very disappointing here, at no point does she really convince me to live the life of her character, her mannerisms, energy and the way she acts with her body are amateur. Compare to her ml, she is clearly not at his level and its quite awkward to watch.
WHO CAN BELIEVE, BASED ON HER ACTING, THAT HER CHARACTER WAS A GENERAL WHO HAD A HARD LIFE, WHO FACED VIOLENT ENVIRONMENTS FOR THE MAJORITY OF HER LIFE??? Her lack of revelant facial expressions is also underwhelming .... I guess I like Zhou Ye's acting in modern dramas better ... The pacing isn't bad but nothing that interesting is happening ... I'm gonna continue mainly for the lovely chemistry of the main cp ...
Overhyped af. It's getting lowkey cynical how kdramas are using tragic stories of bullying, infidelity and else to entertain people while Korea as a society STILL managed to maintain one of the worst normalization of bullying and misogyny in their country.
All those pseudo steamy scenes look very performative... I don't think the drama is bad but the writing is weak despite good ideas. I failed to connect with it, the settings look very artificial ...
