Let me start off with the fact this one of the best commentary on this genre I've ever seen. I actually already loved this first episode but this gave me a lot to think about even in my own judgement of other BL content, even as an LGBTQ+ person myself. So thank you.
Additionally, you are 100% correct. Yes, there are absolutely cases where nc scenes are used to make poor writing pass but there are also places where the early nc and story match to show real life depth and characters. And you cant just jump to conclusions. And from what ep1 shows, though ep1s have led me astray in past, this has solid characters with real turmoil. Nc doesnt mean no plot. And lets be real, most bl followers have a twisted rating bias we all know.
I absolutely regret putting this one off. I mean yes they need more kissing practice (lol) but the chemistry is great, good story, good acting and great mix of comedy and drama done in such a short span. I really hope they make a season 2!!!!
Im not usually a melodrama fan, honestly only started this because I saw an interview from 2 years ago where Han from Stray Kids kpop band said he was enjoying it. But despite its classic melodrama stuff, it's really addictive. The acting is great and the characters feel real even when making bad decisions because we've all done that when emotional, it sucks you in before you know it. So. Thanks Han! Ps, go listen to Stray Kids, lol.
I.....don't have words for this. It was nothing like I expected even during beginning but im so glad I watched it. What started as a questionable but hilarious comedy ended up having me ugly crying with feels to the point my eyes were swollen. As a fellow rainbow I wasn't sure on it in beginning but im so glad I watched. The characters interactions, the growth, the feels, the bittersweet, the realness. Just. Wow. So underrated. I can understand the hesitation when first starting but i promise it will be worth it to finish it.
